Publisher's summary

We met. Our eyes locked. But I wasn’t free, and neither was she. I watched her walk away and her memory has haunted me ever since.

We meet again in paradise. But my life has been destroyed. I’m a ruin of what I used to be, and I send her away.

“Get out. You’re fired.”

“Nanh,” she answers.

“What do you mean, nanh?”

“I mean I’m not leaving,” she answers. “I’m staying right here.”

Little Brat.

We look at each other. Her in cheap servant's clothes. Me in my wheelchair.

Battle lines are drawn.

And if you think this romance isn’t going to be epic, then you don’t know TT.

Listener warning: This one is a heartwarmer, but it's not for the pearl-clutchers. If you can’t stand a boss who will put you over his knee, then skip that one-click. Because Rashid is a beast who knows how to punish. All. Night. Long.

Welcome back, Clementine!

I was happy to have Clementine Dove back as narrator for another Theodora Taylor book. The book itself was fine and started strong with tragedy and had a strong heroine that I enjoyed. However, I think I'm starting to become a bit jaded with Taylor's rich and brooding or controlling heroes keeping women in close proximity. We are expecting another book with the heroine's sister, Jazz, being kept with another rich, ruthless meathead. I was actually hoping that she hooked up with Rashid's older and sophisticated butler, Faizan. Taylor is still a great storyteller, but keeping to this theme, is starting to become repetitive.

This is a good story

I love these stories, this author. June has been the best month for this author and genre. We've got them all on in a couple of weeks and I've listened and loved them all. This story is making re-read and listen again to them all. Still waiting for Luca, Amber and Holt on audible.

Great

I really liked this book and would recommend it. It had a great storyline and sexual storylines. I wish this book was a movie or TV show.

This couple was strange crazy cute together. I have read the book and was, so happy to be able to listen to it. It was sad, funny and exciting. The narrator was great as always and Theodora nailed it yet again with an awesome book. Thanks TT

Neh

This book just didn't do it for me at all. Underwhelming and kind of boring.

Wonderful Adult love story, great narration 👍

This book truly surprised me. Love it's pace, twist and turns, really held my attention. Finally a book like no other. Very nicely connects to Taylor's other books yet being separate. Great accents, realistic characters. I definitely recommend this book to adults. Glad I purchased.

Two thumbs up!

Love the way Rashid loves Mika. He puts it all out there for the woman he loves. Mika is a strong woman who tries to handle too much to protect her man. In the end with help from family and friends, it all works out. Read or listen to this one. Worth the time!

Love these books

Another great storyline that was different from the other books. I love the way Mika dealt with/helped Rashid work through things; the book shows trauma is handled differently for different situations. Clementine did a great job with developing the characters.

refreshing

it's so nice to listen to a good story featuring poc. definitely worth the time. I didn't like the contract angle cause it's been done before but that's knit picking.
