Publisher's summary

An epic fantasy on another world. With a modern twist.

What if you fell through a crack in reality? Like those people disappearing in plain sight you have read about.

What if you find yourself in a strangely familiar world? A world full of Earth’s mythological beings, lost civilizations, and people from its primitive and brutal past? Where magical energy still exists. Where gods play games among themselves, with the fate of mortal men as pawns. A land where a sword is deadlier than a five-inch thick contract drawn by a hotshot lawyer. Would you survive.

That's Tyler West. Alone, lost and bewildered, the three moons in the sky made it clear he wasn’t on Earth anymore. It is not a game. It’s real. And there's no coffee, pizza, fries, or his favorite show on HBO.

Ehh?

Story was not bad but not great. MC is wishywashy. I’m scared I’m mad I’m confident I’m unsure. The magic system seems to have rules but not for the MC but he is still really limited but it does not explain very well what limits him.

The narration is mostly blah. He does well on a few characters. The rest of the story he seems like he is reading a briefing. No life to his narration.

Its ok.

The story had interesting concepts, but some things just took me out of caring much. The MC is..not easy to understand. In fact, he seems like a 15 year old whose never interacted with people. The narrator is fairly blasé about the characters. Some voices are interesting, but the most part bereft of tone and inflection in the story that leaves things flat. I really had to stretch my suspension of disbelief for some aspects (You'll all know it when you see it) and still was left incredulous.

Confusing MC

Being afraid of the gods but not other deities that could kill him. A fool that spent countless hours on attempting self learning magic when if he went with the best option several chapter earlier? Is because she was female that he was confident and not scared shitless and let the anger control him?

I need the second book to judge

it was enjoyable enough. the narrator sounded bord for some characters but into others. the story itself feels a little all over the place but I did see some good things. I'll wait for the second one to make my final judgment.
