Story
When you are codependent, you are unconscious. You do not know that emotional neglect has caused your brain to believe life is a threatening reality. Instead of believing you are worthy of love, you feel unworthy of love. You do not make choices because they might bring you joy. You play it small, try not to rock the boat, people-please, and focus on what you do not want to happen versus what you would like to happen.

This story is told through the jagged peephole of the author's awareness, examining her formative wounds and influences from the perspective of a woman who has now gained experience and wisdom. As she peers over her soul's shoulder, she recalls the chaos of her once-fragile childhood mind. She shudders as she is reminded of the sting of her lonely childhood, her feelings of abandonment, and her painful memories of being bullied.

If when we were children and forming ideas about Self - we were taught to believe we had no worth - then our ideas about Self are fractured.

This is my second book of affirmations. I am a life coach who specializes in helping wounded adult children from dysfunctional homes move beyond their childhood brainwashing, so they can manifest beyond the limiting templates they were taught to believe were real. My agenda is to create a movement among wounded others that allows them to understand that until they confront the templates that were created through innocuous brainwashing as children, they will live their lives unaware as to their true potential.

Unfortunately, the full extent of what narcissistic abuse entails is not taught in any psychology class or diagnostic manual.

Narcissistic abuse was originally defined as a specific form of emotional abuse of children by narcissistic parents, but more recently the term has been applied more broadly to refer to any abuse by a narcissist (someone that who admires their own attributes), in particular in adult-to-adult relationships the abuse may be mental, physical, financial, spiritual or sexual. If you have been through an abusive relationship with someone who has Narcissistic Personality Disorder, you will know that no one understands what you are going through unless they have personally experienced it.

happy with book content, not happy with narration
I very much enjoyed the content of the book, but I feel the narration leaves much to be desired as there are some parts where tge narrator keeps saying: "scratch this, scratch that". I was like, wth? couldnt he either edit that part or read the chapter over? The chapters are not that long anyway. How lazy of the narrator. Lisa, get someone else to do this narration. You could do a much better job than this Allan dude.

Awful narration
What made the experience of listening to Quantum Tools to Help You Heal Your Life Now the most enjoyable?
The actual content in this book is wonderful, valuable, helpful and worthwhile. Lisa A. Romano knows what she's talking about. Unfortunately, this audiobook's narrator has no idea what he's talking about, and trips up, stammers, re-starts - and those errors have not been edited out! Terrible!! This narrator makes a fantastic self-help book an unpleasant experience. Why were his mistakes left in the final product? Is this the quality Audible thinks its paying customers deserve?

The performance was stiff and seemed computer generated on the iPhone. The iPad performance voice was better.
There are many places that the performer read the sentence wrong and then said strike that and it was not deleted, very confusing. Love you and love your work!

I had a hard time focusing on the subject matter due to the narrator. I've not really experienced that before. He was too monotone for the"feeling" of the book. I think there were lots of good points but did struggle with some of it. I would still recommend it, but maybe read the book instead.

this was a very unique and interesting perspective about energy and creation of life and how it all comes together in this time space continuum. a refreshing look at thoughts and processes that are usually taught in a conventional Manor. I really enjoyed Lisa understanding and teaching theories. the narrator, in my opinion, was the wrong fit for this book. I imagine it is a better read than Audible.

Essential reading for codependenendency healing...
Loved this book and Lisa's explanation of codependency, how it starts, how it ruins our lives and how we can get healing. I would definitely recommend this book. The only off putting element of this audible book is the narrator's voice. He read this book with absolutely no emotion and would have ruined my experience of this book but Lisa's message prevailed. Please change the narrator.
