Publisher's Summary

In his last mission, Conor Maguire was called back into action by his handler, Ricardo, to go after a man who helped facilitate the terror attacks that devastated America. The intelligence garnered in that operation exposed a network of traitors within the American government - officials who had advance warning of the attacks and did nothing to alert the American people. Worse yet, they sought to take advantage of the situation, seeing it as an opportunity to further their own vision of government.

When Ricardo next pays Conor a visit, it's at the behest of a shadowy collective of patriots determined to purge the government of those who sold out the nation. It should have been a simple mission, a short trip to "punch tickets" in the way that Conor had successfully done hundreds of times around the world.

But nothing in this mission will be simple. Conor and his team find themselves thwarted or compromised at every turn. They're pushed to the edge physically and emotionally. When the dust finally settles, their world will be entirely different, the path ahead more uncertain than ever.

Amazing Continuation

There’s less humor, more serious situations in this book. It happens. I do not like where it’s heading with the handler but I’m looking forward to Connor punching him at least once without repercussions...I hope. Kept me in the edge of my seat the whole time!

Great. Not surprising.

Yet another great addition to Franklin Horton's repertoire. The Mad Mick series is probably my favorite. This edition to the series took a weird turn and it hit me a little harder than anticipated because of course, it is fiction. However, one can't neglect the attachment to characters in stories to which the have grown to love. I have some personal foreshadowing I hope happens down the road but the sly dog author has made sure to make it as vague as possible with the potential outcome of the next book. This will not let you down. This book brings a sense of realism to the series. You will enjoy of course.

Shannon Is The Weakest Link

Kevin Pierce's narration is as per usual, fantastic!

As for the storyline...more of Ragus' and Shannon's life before the Mad Mick comes out. Shannon shows more than ever how her self-centeredness makes her the weakest link. Barb is coming more and more into her own as assignments with Connor cause her to utilize all of her skills while gaining more. There are some losses, some gains and two plots full of action running parallel to each other. Never heard of Jim from the Borrowed World series before, so I'll be starting that before moving ahead since Jim and Mick are soon to meet. Sad ending but still excellent!!

not exactly the Mad Mick I know

long dragged out description of a relationship between Rages en Shannon and an idiot with a bat who killes 6 people but cant seem to kill two more to secure his new compound. does not make sense and i wanted to skip this part. Also expected more of the Mad Mick since he is the baddest ass on the planet. no explanation on how Ricardo died. He is a key figure.

couldn't put it down

it was great from start to finish. never bored or frustrated with both author and super perfect narrator it hit all the right buttons. story was exciting and action packed without lulls and each character was loved and well written in each their own right. This author never let's me doen even choosing thr best narrator and not having a go himself or paying g a cheap one unlike some I've been exposed to recently. can't wait for next book!
