Ex-Figure Skater–Speed Demon Hockey Player

Wystan Finch is killing it as a hockey player after leaving Olympic figure skating due to a breakdown. A scholarship leads him to New Gothenburg University, where he joins the Polar Storms, but his arrival isn’t all fun and games. One of his teammates, Atlas, hates him from the moment he arrives. Wystan doesn’t understand why Atlas dislikes him so much, but he takes joy in irritating Atlas whenever he can. If Wystan feels more toward his rival, that’s only his business.

Captain–Or Else

Everything Atlas Frosteson wants is within his grasp. His one goal in life is to become the captain of the Polar Storms. On the day when his dream should come true, he loses the team vote to a hotshot new player, Wystan. When hate turns into something more, Atlas fights against the emotions that threaten to ruin everything he has worked hard for. His father would never forgive him or be proud of him if he gave in to the temptation of chasing after Wystan.

Hate Twists into a New Feeling

No matter which direction Atlas turns, Wystan is always there, both on and off the ice. Atlas is infuriated when his father starts dating Wystan’s mother, bringing them closer in proximity. Atlas’s obsession with Wystan could destroy his hockey career, yet he can’t get enough.

In the end, will Atlas succeed in getting rid of Wystan and taking his life back? And if he does, will he regret it?

Enjoyable

I enjoyed Wystan and Atlas’ story. It’s a sweet opposites attract, enemies to lovers romance with grumpy-sunshine under tones. There is a moderate level of angst as both MC’s have challenging relationships with their fathers, especially Atlas who has undue pressure to succeed as a hockey star. I thought the narrator did an excellent job bringing the story to life.

Another great book by the great and talented duo that is Meg and Ki. I love their books and this is no different.

Keval did a great job with the narration and really brought everyone to life.

Pucking awsome

I love Wy and Atlas. I also enjoyed how supportive Wy's mom is and how she is portrayed in this book. I hated Altas' dad which we're supposed to since he's kind of harsh on Atlas. I really enjoyed all of the teammates and can't wait for more books in this series. I enjoyed listening to Wy and Atlas growing to become a couple. Keval Shah did a wonderful job.

Story was great

Didn’t know what to expect from a hockey story but it was awesome. The narrator did amazing at job differentiating the characters and the feel of how each character acted. The story was great, wasn’t expecting it to lead where it went especially with the dislike of the main characters at the beginning. Totally recommend it.

Good book!

Another great one from Ki and Meg! The story is about Wystan and Atlas, 2 hockey players with a lot of attitude! Enemies to lovers, it starts with a lot of heat that transforms into sweet feelings as the story unfold. I wasn't sure when I started it because I didn't really connect with the characters, but as always the authors did their magic and I was drawn into the story fast enough. It's a must read if you like hockey story, enemies to lovers stories. Keval Shah narrated the book beautifully.

Great Enemies to Lovers Sports Romance!

If you enjoy enemies to lovers and sports MM romance, you’ll enjoy this book! Wystan is the new guy, likable, ex-figure skater turned hockey player. Atlas is the veteran alum hockey player, has parental issues and acts out. Both MCs were up for the captain position on the team and that’s why they started out as enemies.

Throughout the book, both Wystan and Atlas grow to learn a lot about the other and themselves. Injuries, past childhood experiences and the love that has started to grow between them creates an opportunity for them to realized they are in fact family. Even a change in demeanor with Atlas’ father as the book goes on. Authors Ki Brightly and M.D. Gregory did an excellent job writing this novel.

Keval Shah, is a new to me narrator and I quite like his performance. He does an amazing job giving each character their own voice and is consistent throughout.

Push and pull

With all of his dreams and accomplishments on the hockey team within his grasp, Atlas is absolutely wrecked when the new guy comes in and usurps his place. Wystan is not only threatening his success on the team but is upsetting his personal life too.
But, there is something about Wy that draws Atlas to him and the animosity and rivalry between them slowly changes into something more.

Mr Shah makes this an engaging listen. With elements of push and pull between the characters, a little bit of angst, family drama, passionate encounters and a well deserved HEA, this story is worth a listen.

Enjoyable

I liked this story more than I thought I would. Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope so I always have high hopes. There were places the story dragged a bit but overall it was an entertaining listen.
This narrator wasn't my favorite for these characters. His accent is far more suited for a Mafia or dark story in my opinion. When the story started I wasn't sure I could get through the whole thing with him but it didn't take long for me to relax into it and get a feel for the characters. I've listened to many books narrated by him and he does a good job.
The spice was very nice in this story. There wasn't to much inner dialogue during those scenes and what there was, wasn't distracting.
I usually enjoy books by these 2 authors and I have quite a few. I have to say this one is one of my favorites by them.
