Publisher's summary

I’ve lied to myself for years about being in love with my best friend.

Everly Bowman and I don’t make sense. She’s sunshine personified, and I hate everyone. Well, everyone but her. It’s easy to pretend like she isn’t my whole world. Or it was, until she needs a place to stay, and my apartment is her only option.

Suddenly, she's everywhere I turn. Even her scent is branded into my sheets. And thanks to our unofficial romance book club, I’ve also amassed an encyclopedia titled Everly’s Pleasure Buttons. Each week, it gets harder to ignore how much I want to make her fantasies come true. Especially when we crawl into my bed every night.

But I won’t jeopardize what we have for anything, so I’m fine lying to myself and pretending like I don’t dream of calling her mine.

At least, I was until I see her with him.

Narrated in duet by Connor Crais and Stephanie Rose.

Ok

Written well. Narration was excellent. Story was rather superficial. Ok, if you want something light to get over a book hangover.

Sweet, sexy, duet narrated

This was my 1st Brighton Walsh book. The story is sweet, sexy, and funny. There are family squabbles, oddball characters (small town) and a pet. This is a fairly quick listen (< 7 hours), but there is a bonus epilogue on the author's website (audio available, also narrated in duet). Loved that! I have added the other books in this series to my wishlist as I am curious to learn the stories of Beck's (MC) siblings. I enjoyed both narrators and Duet is the best! if you like Connor Crais, you will love his wonderful performance of Beck as he's a playful, sexy, growly, take charge, dirty-talking, adventurous, generous, hard-working, totally lovable, and loving guy.

Such A Treat!!!

Protective Heart was an absolute treat to read. It was spicy. It was sexy. It was sweet. It was funny. I loved it.I simply adored the main characters. The narrators did an amazing job bringing them to life. I have to single out Connor Crais because of his voice. I am in love with his voice, It's the perfect pitch, depth and that growly, gravelly element to it *swoon* Kudos to both narrators for these characters to life in such a vivid way. I highly recommend it. Do yourself a favour and pick up a copy.

Usually I’m more into enemies to lovers, but I think I liked this friends to lovers better than book one, and I loved book one! I loved Beck’s filthy mouth, like he was reading straight out of the books we read. He is the perfect book boyfriend, completely devoted to Everly, especially when her house and vet clinic catch fire and she needs him. Not just a place to stay, but him…his comfort, his reassurance, his ability to take charge of this situation. Beck and Everly have fighting these feeling for each other for the two years that she’s been in town for fear of messing up their friendship, but it was like the fire was the straw the broke the camels back. They couldn’t hold back anymore. It’s a little bit of a slow burn building up to it, but once it’s going, it’s freaking scorching hot, and they are literally replaying spicy scenes from their favorite books together!

And let’s talk about the narration for just a minute… Connor Crais and his deep sexy voice when he says those filthy things does things to me. Incredible job. Stephanie did an amazing job as well! I think this is the first narration of hers I’ve heard, but I’m definitely looking forward to more!

I love a good friends to lovers!! 👏🏼👏🏼

Okay, yessss!!!! This one was much better than book one!
This was hot and sweet and swoony. My three favorite things. Loved Beck and Everly so much! That man and his aftercare.. 🥵🥵 but not only that, but his beforecare (is that a word? It is now!). It was sooo good and made me instantly loved him. 💕

I’ve very excited for Ford and Quinn’s book, which is next!

Good read

I absolutely love the dual narration, more authors should do this. The story line was okay but could have been a little bit better.

Loved this duet narration!

Beck is the best grumpy alpha and Connor portrays him perfectly. Stephanie is a perfect Everly. This small town grumpy-sunshine tale with all the spice is terrific. Highly recommend.
