Caspian Locke

I don't think we even begin to understand love until we've lost the one we thought we'd spend the rest of our life with. I don't think we begin to understand ourselves until we realize that it's most likely our fault. And I don't think we begin to understand life until we understand it comes in so many shades of gray.

You can be a good person and still do irrevocable harm. Life is messy, so f--king messy. I hate it. Or maybe I hate myself. I thought for a long time I hated him.

But I can't hate Iris. No matter how much he hurts, I still carry this little f--king wish in the depths of my soul that one day he'll forgive me and admit he still loves me.

Part of life is living with the burden of what I've done and waiting for a day that will never come.

This is that life. We all come out Pretty F*cked.

Finally I am feeling satisfied with reading (listening to) a book in this series. There was a story and I got to see some of what made MC Iris tick. Caspian much less, but in the end he came to his senses and supported the man he claimed he loved. Hmm. 🤨 But I loved this book I could get lost in and I loved the narrators. I’m going to hurry up and continue on to the last book. 🩷

A rockstar drama!

“I don’t want you to hate me like I hate me.” Wow, that hit a little too deep. I knew Iris and Cas’s story was gonna be sad and deep, but I didn’t realize it was gonna break my heart. It was both tragic and beautiful. I felt so angry and sad for Iris. I could almost feel Iris’s sorrow and despair as my own. And Caspian’s blind loyalty to Alexander and his inability to see what he was doing to Iris in the beginning was so frustrating 😭 I really loved that their story was told in a non-linear format. It gave the story much more weight to it. Liam did a phenomenal job as usual 😍

So good 😍

There is a lot of the SAME dialogue from the last book which is making me to believe the other reviews where it’s mentioned Irish and Cas didn’t need separate books. I like how the story delve deeper into the chaos that is Iris hut still a good listen. I got this on sale so that makes it better.

I really liked Pretty Obsessed and Caspian & Iris’ story intrigued me…but this book and Pretty Black were just depressing and repetitive. If it was the author’s intent to literally depict a vicious cycle, I’d say he succeeded because I was reading the same thing over and over. I also didn’t like both books going back and forth between the past and the present. Maybe one book could have gone back and forth and then the other more current…it’s like we get so much back story and get what they are going through in the present, but we don’t really get a resolution.

I did like Caspian though. I could appreciative his resilience and commitment to Iris and wanting him to live. I believed his love for Iris.

Caspian and Iris…
