Another homerun! I really enjoyed this modern reimagined take on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Victoria Kincaid made this version of Darcy very beautifully socially awkward but very interesting and intelligent.
I hope more books by Victoria Kincaid are released on Audible. Ms Lucy Emerson did a great narration job.

Must read!!!

I have listened to almost 20 different variations and this one is one of the best. I absolutely loved it!! You won’t be disappointed.

Great modern Jaff

I loved it. Great modern Jaff where you have much of the canon bits. Highly recommend this book to a Jane Austen fan fiction lover.

I’m happy I gave this book a chance! It was great. Totally recommend it. This modern pride and prejudice version is intense, It was very hard for me to pause the book even for sleeping.

Really Well Made Modern Take on P&P

I could not stop listening to this audiobook. Emerson did a wonderful job reading it. I loved Victoria Kincaid's spin on the Bennet family. Elizabeth and Darcy's interactions were beautifully written. This is a definite must-read.

I'm a Republican, but Darcy would get my vote.

A great take on Pride and Prejudice. Wish more modern takes of that were created. I've seen only a few. The best modern telling yet. Hope the author's other books are on Audible. Great narration as well, even if I hadn't heard of her before.

Sort of like listening to a Hallmark movie

I was hesitant to buy this book, but read the reviews so decided to give it a try. It's entertaining for sure and I will say that the author did a brilliant job of re-mapping characters into the modern day and having them take on modern manners. The writing style was ok - there were some grammatical / vocab errors, it also lack a bit of depth and polish. But, like my title implies it was entertaining and kept my attention. The reader was good, a bit flat in some places and a bit cliché in others, but overall she did a good job.

All of the characters we love and hate

The P&P story is brought to The Oval Office. I had my doubts that it could be done, but Ms Kincaid managed to do it well.

The Bennet family is just as gauche and vulgar, not mixing well with Washington Elite. Somehow Lydia is possibly even more vapid than she was in the 1800s. Giving her technology just took her to a much wider audience to the detriment of the relationship between ODC.

Wickam, Collins and the rest of the cast round out the story in the usual ways, but with a modernized twist.

There is some funny dialogue along the way, especially the beleaguered Press Secretary Bob Hilliard, and a few sad moments as the possibility of a HEA ending seems to slip away from ODC.

The story was a little longer than necessary as the way to resolve the problems created by Lydia, Wickam and the Media seems obvious, but overall it was well written and well narrated.

My only negative on the narration was that the voices for the male characters seemed a little flat or one dimensional.

Great book and narration. It’s so great to see favourite books from Jane Austen fan fiction become available in audiobook format.

Finny and entertaining

Funny love story between Lizzy and Darcy. Ms Kincaid had made is so light hearted and easy to follow. All the eccentricities and their decision are somewhat ridiculous but will make you laugh . I have read this multiple times and. And you will never get tired of it.
