good listen

it was better than the first book, but still a bit slow considering the subject matter. maybe it is just because it is still building setting for the larger story though.

The story evolves

The first book had the very hard task of introducing a wide stage of worlds, background history and cast with differing agendas.
The second book builds on top of that groundwork and gathers speed early on, skillfully weaving occurrences and agendas across worlds together into a captivating and cohesive narrative. Political intrigue relates to planet-wide wars across the galaxy in a desperate war for survival.

Amazing

This series is incredible so far. This book in particular, while slightly slow about a third of the way in ended up being strangely emotional. Incredibly well written. Cannot wait for the next!

enjoying this epic series

this series is great. it has a wide ranging scope and cast of characters which I found daunting at first but it's coming together nicely.

Fantastic follow up to the first book

Great follow on from the first. Expands and adds much, only reason I've rated the story a 4/5 is because it's very much a set up for bigger things too come.

Can't recommend the series enough
