Publisher's Summary

Escape the grip of drama and take control of your life.

The Power of TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic) is a fable on self-leadership, because how you lead your own life has everything to do with how you lead in other areas. It is a tool for both individuals and organizations who want to create more effective communication and relationships. Learning how to transform everyday drama and opt for more growth-oriented solutions, is the priceless gift it teaches.

As you walk with David, the main character, he shares how he is feeling victimized by life. Through serendipity he meets some wise guides, Ted and Sophia, who show David how he can move from feeling like a victim to being a creator of his own life.

The Power of TED* offers a powerful alternative to the Karpman Drama Triangle with its roles of victim, persecutor, and rescuer. The Empowerment Dynamic (TED) provides the antidote roles of creator, challenger, and coach - and a more positive approach to life's challenges.

The teaching story provides a guide for learning and growing through the challenges we all face in our lives. Its message resonates with everyone who, at some time in their lives, feel victimized by their situation.

Having helped thousands of people and scores of organizations over the past decade, The Power of TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic) is being published in this 10th Anniversary Edition to convey a very timely message of hope that all of life, whether at home or work, can be transformed to create satisfying and fulfilling relationships.

Its message is needed now more than ever.

The 10th Anniversary Edition retains the powerful leadership story and adds three new sections:

1. A new Foreword by Lisa Lahey, Ed D, Harvard Graduate School of Education

2. New Study Questions for the Journey

3. A new Preface by the Author

Paradigm Shifting

Although the concepts presented in this parable are familiar, and I even thought that I would be bored since this is all something that I obviously already know (yawn yawn), it proved me wrong!
This book should be part of every humans life curriculum and should be taught in every aspect to education.
MUST READ...OR LISTEN!!

Short, simple, powerful

I need to read this one again. The concept is simple and powerful. I feel simultaneously like it resonates with me and that I don't yet understand it.

Shift happens

This book was great! I totally wasnt expecting this book to be so good! The best part of this book is the revelation of what the opposite of victim is. I enjoyed this book and the advice within.

Once you understand what the empowerment dynamic is, shift happens and you can start to make the necessary changes you need to improve your life. I am thankful for the story of David, Sophia and Ted. Definitely a life changing paradigm shift. So are you ready to make shift happen in your life and change it for the better? Read the book!

Narrator was excellent and felt like it came from a religious leader I love to listen too.

Great Ideas. Not the book.

the entire book could have been written in one paragraph. The story line was confusing. Would be much better to describe these ideas in a classic form.

I wanted to like it

I bought this book because I love the concept of TED as antidote to DDT and I wanted to learn more. Personally, I did not enjoy the parable format and found the dialog distractingly unnatural. I got a lot more out of listening to interviews with the author on YouTube as he described the concept. I would have enjoyed a variety of examples of how to shift from one triangle role to the alternative.

I Thought This Only Applied in the Workplace

As an MS/MBA, and after years of professional experience in leader ship roles, I constantly saw my career improve. However, my personal life was slipping past my grasps. A lot of these principles mirror what you learn through experience as a leader - but converted to be less abstract. I want to be the same way as a family member, friend, and loved one - as opposed to just a hard worker. It'll take time, but I feel like I have direction now. A starting point.

Easy to listen, good, clear content.

Extremely useful tools and models for self knowledge and analysis of the structure of conflict, both for inner conflict and crisis situations. Well read, although I would generally prefer a slower pace.
