When you’re acquired by private equity, the first 100 days are critical. You need to grow revenue faster, be more profitable, and integrate additional companies, all while getting buy-in from investors. In this environment, ramping up your sales pipeline is a major component of meeting board expectations.

In Post-Acquisition Marketing, Shiv Narayanan reveals how PE-backed companies can leverage marketing to scale faster and deliver on the investment thesis. With Shiv’s proven framework, you’ll learn exactly how to leverage data to secure a larger budget for marketing and drive more top-line revenue growth than ever before.

I'll start by saying I am a huge fan of Shiv, and in my opinion he is one of the best minds in B2B / start-up marketing, specifically from a strategic stand-point. He has a great way of taking large and complex concepts and breaking them down into bite size, digestible content that is high in Vitamin V (value).

Shiv's LinkedIn content is vastly superior in value to almost everyone else I follow, and I have a fairly robust marketing network.

I was excited to get this book for some insider tips and a deeper dive into post-acquisition marketing. To be fair, there are a few gems in this book, but unfortunately it mostly serves as a primer for Shiv's newsletter content and lacks the deep insights one hopes to typically gain from reading a book, even a short one.

Shiv is full of knowledge, unfortunately most of it is not in this book.

I would recommend this as a fast read for start-up founders and marketers new to the start-up world. If you are an experienced start-up marketer there will be little additional value here for you.

Hoping for a much meatier follow up in the future.
