Hannah Smith thinks she’s safe now that Reuben Tate is set to face trial. But when an unusual creature is let loose on the Freak House estate, everybody is in danger, including Jack. To hunt it down, the household must take risks, but the greatest risk is to Hannah’s heart. She’s in danger of falling deeply in love with Jack, a man whose very touch can kill her.

Once again CJ Archer has pulled me into another series. Love when I’m invested in the characters and this time brings in the characters from another series.

Captivating read

There is not one thing that I disliked. The narrator is great. Love this series. This is my second listen

The excitement of the story. The awesome description of events and characters. Such as clothing monster houses characters

I own about 260 books on audible right now. There are some I have really enjoyed and there are some that I just play for some background noise when it gets to boring parts. The best compliment that I can give is one that I’ll give to this one- I didn’t zone out once. I didn’t feel like there was a lot of filler (hardly any if at all) and the narration was great throughout.

Another great one!

A conversation at the dinner table of mixed company discussing gay men, their origins, and love?? That would not happen in the 1800’s. Many times, things don’t fit. It’s definitely written by a modern person who wants to put today’s morality and ideals in people 200 years ago. I’m tired of virtue signaling in books. It just doesn’t fit. I have 20 minutes left and just like book 1, nothing really happens in the entire book. I’m not buying book 3 and I’m done with this author.

Doesn’t ring true to the times.
