I’m the type of girl who’s given up on fairy tales. So when Beck – the hot new busboy at work - starts flirting with me, I know better than to get my hopes up. Happily ever afters aren’t for the average. I learned that the hard way. But how can I be expected to resist a man who can quote Austen, loves making me laugh, and seems to be everything hot and good in this world? Only there’s so much more to him than that. Returning home for her father’s wedding was never going to be easy for Adele. If being sent away at 18 hadn’t been bad enough, the mess she left behind when she made a pass at her dad’s business partner sure was. Fifteen years older than her, Pete had been her crush for as long as she could remember. But she’d misread the situation - confusing friendliness for undying love. Awkward. Seven years on, things are different. Adele is no longer a kid, but all it takes is seeing him again to bring back all those old feelings.

Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I'd never been able to forget - even though he so easily forgot about me - and call him. Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you've had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless prank call. Instead I went off on him - unloading 13 years of pent-up emotions. I didn't think he'd call me back.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

Publisher's Summary
Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international best seller Lick.
Mal Ericson, drummer for the world-famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast - at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn't plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn't count on finding the one right girl.
Anne Rollins never thought she'd ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls - especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn't end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?
This audiobook includes an excerpt from the first book in Kylie Scott's new Dive Bar series, Dirty.

A really fun style of writing!!
Where does Play rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I don't write a lot of reviews. A book has to be REALLY good for me to take the time to do so. This book is up there with one of my best reads!
What did you like best about this story?
It had the perfect mix of comedy and romance. There was really no angst, crazy love triangles or evil villains. It was funny with great characters with just enough steamy times.
Which character – as performed by Andi Arndt – was your favorite?
Mel!!!!! By far was just the best and funniest character.
Any additional comments?
This series is great! The first book was just as good as this one.. I can't wait for the next one.

This book was really fun! Mal was so funny and pushy and I loved it! Ann, I think spent the 1st half of the book confused because Mal is so off the wall and spontaneous. He wants it, he takes it, and Ann has no say about it because he swoops in like the Tasmanian Devil. Their relationship was fun and sexy. I love that the entire band is there throughout every book instead of barely side characters. I can't wait to get to Jimmy story, I just know he is going to have a good side...somewhere ;)
And I'm so glad that the narrator remains the same throughout the series since Andi Arndt is awesome!

Better than the First!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The first one (Lick) was good; but, this one was so much better. Mal, while pained, is a hoot. I love the banter between him and Anne.
Hopefully there will be more installments to come. Preferably with Ben and Nick's characters.
Definitely worth the credit or just outright buy it.

My favorite "adult" romance book!!
What did you love best about Play?
This is the first book review I have ever done. I guess I'm reeling from just finishing the book so I have to talk about it! This was the perfect combination of sex and funny. I love that the characters, given their options 1.) be an overthinking idiot or 2.) shut up and give the sexy charming rock star a chance, tended to take option #2. Lets face it, who in their right mind wouldn't! I have been searching for books in the same vein as 50 Shades and Bared to You. This series beats the pants off of both because in lue of all the heavy drama you have laugh out loud comedy. The main character tended to drone on a little in her inner monolog but since there was no male perspective I can see why. I also could have done with a little more desciption of the female lead just so I could paint a better mental image.
Have you listened to any of Andi Arndt’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love this story I listen to it about 5 times
It was catchy from the beginning to the end. The story of the troubled bad boy is not a unique one but he still kept you wanting to know more. He was intrusive by railroading over Ann. But caring and protective over her at the same time.

Haven't laughed/swooned so much in ages
Beautiful story, well performed. Not too much drama, but full of depth. So so funny too! Had to constantly muffle a laugh as I read until 5am. Honestly, Mal is one of the best love interests I've read for a long time. I'm so over all the brooding macho guys, give me this funny, non-controlling man with issues any day. Anne was also a refreshing heroine, she didn't overreact or do stupid shit, I could relate way more to her than so many others. Both were mature characters. I loved Lick, but this one is definitely my favourite so far. Kylie Scott writes about genuine relationship issues/dynamics without it feeling like a cliche. Love, love, love.

Big smile throughout the whole book
It was funny. Mal’s teasing, ego and playfulness was great. Anne was the counterbalance to keep him grounded, without trying to change him. They made a lovely couple.
There was enough drama to keep the story interesting without drowning it in angst.
All round a good read
