Enemies wear many faces.

The Here and Meow Festival has finally arrived! Amber Blackwood and her fellow festival committee members still have plenty to do before the celebration of all things feline begins. Even though Amber’s witchy past keeps interfering, she knows the show must go on. Edgehill’s livelihood depends on the festival’s success.

When two incidents involving her malfunctioning products cause her to shutter the doors of her curiosity shop, The Quirky Whisker, only days before the busiest season of the year, Amber thinks things can’t get any worse. An investigation into the incidents reveals sabotage is to blame - sabotage that only could have been carried out by a fellow witch. Things just officially got worse.

With Edgehill overrun by tourists, any unfamiliar face could be a member of the nefarious Penhallow witch family. Though her parents’ grimoires are hidden in a remote location overlaid with protective spells, Amber fears that won’t be enough to deter the desperate and cursed clan from trying to get their hands on a legendary time-travel spell.

As the opening ceremony of the Here and Meow approaches, Amber contends with a nosy lawyer, mysterious government officials, and a charismatic superstar. Through it all, Amber senses the Penhallows have something planned - something big. With her new circle of close confidants by her side, Amber must find a way to thwart the Penhallow family’s scheme before it’s too late. If she can’t, the Here and Meow will be ruined...and Edgehill could be wiped off the map.

A Truly Satisfying Conclusion!

Sadly this seems to be the final installment. I think this book, unlike so many others, manages to wrap up all of the plot threads in ways that feel natural and thus wholly believable. Everything from the relationships to the threats that plagued the heroes from the start are taken care of. It is a thrilling ending for a series filled with relatable characters that you won't want to miss!

Book 5 loses its thread

This series is overall a fun, light and quick read cozy “mystery”. There’s no intellect required on the characters solving a mystery as “magic” literally shows her the backstory, plot, & motivations of each issue. Magic allows for lazy writing over and over, but the books are more fun than for mystery problem solving.
This book takes the laziness to a new level. The main character is more martyr than brave, loved because of her victim hood and inaction.
Insane amounts of damage done by giant, float size cats, large enough to roll cars during a major festival in a town loaded with tourists as well as groupies filming and following a country star somehow are never uploaded to the internet, social media, or out of town news stations.
I’ve had a problem with the reader fir all 5 books with ageism stereotypes. Several pivotal characters are around age 60 but read with voices of someone near 90. Clearly the reader has a cartoon stereotype of anyone over 50. It’s so over the top it is insulting.

Farm girl

This is a well written fun little series with likable characters, a little mystery and a little paranormal with witches. A very fun easy to listen to series. Also the entire series is on Audible and each book has an satisfactory ending, no cliff hangers even though each epilogue hints at more to come.

The final book did a great job of pulling all the plot lines together. It was refreshing to have a story about healing and reconciliation.

Good story thread

There's a good story line running through this series of books (this is book 5). The heroine is believable, and the author hasn't over-concentrated on her love life.
