Publisher's summary

Triumph over adversity using proven Special Operations habits and mindsets with this inspiring guide from retired Navy SEAL and New York Times best-selling author Jason Redman.

Adversity can often catch you by surprise and leave you struggling with what to do next. What if you could confront any adversity, from the biggest challenges - the loss of your job, divorce, health issues, bankruptcy - to normal daily challenges - a late flight, a disappointing phone call, a missed promotion, a bad day - and not just survive it, but thrive afterwards?

Redman was horrifically wounded in Iraq in 2007 when he was shot at close range through the face and arm. After 40 surgeries, including extensive facial reconstruction and skin grafts, he came back from this experience stronger than ever - despite carrying scars and injuries he will have for the rest of his life. Redman went on to launch two successful companies and speaks all over the country on how to build better leaders through his Overcome mindset.

Overcome is based on extensive research and interviews with America's toughest warriors - including retired four-star Admiral William McRaven, retired Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, retired four-star General Stanley McChrystal, and others. In this audiobook, Redman teaches:

  • How to survive any life ambush
  • How to move from defense to offense using the proactive techniques of SEAL teams
  • How to strengthen your endurance during long-term trials
  • How to rediscover and thrive in your life purpose
  • How to lead your team (whether in business or family) to success
  • How to compete with the top one percent in your field
  • How to stay the course even when you want to quit
  • And more

Some people move through adversity, and others fall underneath it. Learn how you can be counted among those who will overcome.

Excellent

I recommend this to everybody! This is a man who is doing it and done it, not just a guru who preaches nonsense.

This book hit home in many levels

While I am not a veteran, I have experienced physical trauma. I so related to the no quit mindset and the real challenge of physical limitations. Those combined have made me stuck on the X, unsure how to move forward.

Additionally, the leadership principles in this book are on point! The way he explains them has helped me uncover a few things that I can change to improve myself and organization.

Thank you Jason Redman!

A Must Read.

Once I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down. Jason offers great stories around overcoming the ambushes of life not just the ambushes on the battlefield. Jason puts things in perspective to create a mindset and overcoming difficulties in life, whether on the battlefield, at home, or in business. After reading the book, I got the audio to listen to when I’m driving to reinforce the principles.

What do I do now?

This is the question I found myself asking. Now what? Now where? Am I the only one thinking or feeling this way? How do I go on?

In his newest book, retired Navy Seal, LT. Jason Redman shares his experiences and a roadmap to get your life back in motion and not stuck on the “X”! Whether your life ambush is a death of a loved one, a divorce, a natural disaster, a traumatic event, or a war, Jason’s book Overcome can help set that mental focus and drive to pick yourself up by your boot straps and go through, over, or tear out of your way whatever is trying to hold you back.

I highly suggest downloading and listening as LT Jason Redman reads his new book. Don’t just listen once.... go back... pick out the chapters or sections you want or need to listen to again.

Fight on
