Publisher's summary

With his wedding behind him, Fred is looking forward to nightly life finally settling down. Unfortunately, someone from his past has other, far less peaceful, plans in mind.

Finding his clan under attack, Fred must scramble to discover who is working against him and how to fight back. Between securing shelter, trading favors, and keeping up with his accounting business, it won't be easy to stay out of trouble, let alone uncover the identity of his adversary.

Faced with an enemy who has no interest in diplomacy, Fred and his friends will have to make hard choices if they want to survive. Choices that could forever change The House of Fred.

A fantastic edition to the series

What a delightful book. As much fun as all the rest and most importantly has a happy ending.

Another brilliant entry on the Fred books!

Drew Hayes is one of my favorite authors. I especially love the way his books are so different in voice and tone. He is writing three of my favorite series: Villain's Code; Sherman Holmes; and Fred.

Fred is the most low key and humorous. The vignette format of the stories let's Drew explore different characters and side stories. This time around we get to see Charlotte's problems and development as well as some problems with selling a ski resort.

The pairing of Drew and Kirby Heyborne are perfect. I am sure the full cast recordings are great, but I can't think of anyone but Kirby voicing Fred.

Another great entry on the books! (Accounting humor.)

Fantastic

A really great addition to the series and without much in the way of slow or boring bits! Recommended!

Kirby IS Fred. He’s such a great narrator. I took one point off though because, listening in headphones, I heard a lot of extra noises in this one; a chair or mic stand squeaking or desk thumping. He must have really been getting into it! Not a big deal though.

Another step forward.

Love this series. I wish it had much larger installments. The house of Fred is really becoming a hard core big league clan and it comes time to put up or shut up in this one. I like that Fred catches on to things quickly and only rarely is he dumbed down to make the plot work. That’s a tool way over used anymore and once I see it I can’t see past it. Can’t wait for the next one.

The Continued Growth of Fred and the House

For a being so hum-drum, Fred sure is compelling. I listened to the book in a day because I couldn't stop it. Book 7 is the natural continuation of the previous 6 books with interesting spin.
As I have stated in previous reviews of Drew Hayes's books, he excels in character development. 7 books in and we are learning more about our favorite characters, making them deeper and full. While many questions have been tied up, there are so many more questions that have popped up. As always, Kirby Heyborne is the perfect narrator for Fred and company. I especially appreciated his gremlin voice. Just fun all around.
As I approached the end of this book, part of me was thinking that Hayes was wrapping up so many questions that this may be an ending point of the series. Then he opens up an whole new line that must be followed. I'm so happy to have visited with my good friends again and look forward to hanging out with them for a while more. Thanks Drew!

Great fun

I was hoping that I my expectations for this book would not exceed the actual story and was not let down, I really enjoyed it and was sorry to see it end. Narration was as always great.
