Thank you Stacey for the clear explanations of why we are were we are as a nation. i particularly liked the second half of the book because we cannot remain disengaged after the attacks on democracy that you so clearly describe. Not only did you present an account of the current state of our country, but you also provided guidance and suggestions to get involved in the much needed change.

Georgia lost out.

In the 2018 gubernatorial race in Georgia, people of all races, ethnicities, and ages saw the change they wanted in their state in Stacey Abrams. Unfortunately, they were denied their choice by the machinations of one party, and in particular one man. Stacey Abrams has written an informative and enlightening book regarding the state of politics and elections in our country in today’s hyper partisan atmosphere. We should all heed the warning.

Abrams is an excellent writer, and a compelling speaker. Her vision of how we can expand the electorate and advance democracy is motivating. This is definitely an audio book worth listening to more than once.

Agreat read and powerful information

I think she did a fantastic job shedding light on the failing democracy our country is facing. I know politics was corrupt but didnt know exactly how bad it is. She identifies the problems with examples and then offers realistic solutions, such as voting. She breaks down why voting is so important and if we dont vote, we will never see the change we are waiting for.

An inspiring call to win an election and fight for

Abrams convincingly argues that voting rights are fundamental to operation of a democracy, and yet they are under siege. She teaches us how to fight back to better actualize the ideals of giving everyone a voice. This book is a fantastic primer on the history of voting rights and current threats to it, brought to life by stories of her family and her race for Governor of Georgia. And it's a bit job interview for VP, too. If she isn't selected as VP, after reading this, I feel like we need a new federal agency to oversee voting rights and the census, and Abrams should be its head.
