In a time where it feels like the country and world is so divided, it’s encouraging to be reminded of a time where things were worse and how far we’ve come since then. Leading with love and promoting unity is the only way to continue making progress.

The audio narration of this book was engaging and the tone of voice was easy to listen to. It was educational, inspiring, and enlightening. It called for deeper thinking and self-reflection. It challenged the mind and warned that the motive for seeking justice should be to benefit the human race instead of a select group or individual. One of my biggest take aways is, if you take action, take action with all of humanity in mind. The price of doing nothing and the price to fail to act from a place of love are both equally high and do not yield fruit that lead to the embetterment of one because it does not benefit the whole; the only real way to to truely gain.

this book was the epitome of congressman John Lewis. you could hear his heart in every word and have a broader understanding of why they called him the consciousness of the Congress.

Words to guide the human soul.

This man’s life, his work, his council, have forever changed me. I vow from this day forward to embrace and to become that peaceful agent of change. To live by his philosophy, and to spread the teachings of non-violence. I’ve heard the phrase often, but only now have I found clarity in its meaning, that only light can drive out the darkness.

I am grateful that this man, and the many men and women who have taught him, who came before him, have lived. It is only through their light and vision that the world may one day see its path forward. For all time and for all of humanity.

I am truly humbled and honored and grateful to pickup the torch, and ascend to continue this necessary work. To be that spark of the Devine.

What a life this man lived. How much he saw and saw change during his life. Amazing that he lived as long as he did given what he was put through and exposed.
