You know those romances that pull you in and have you smiling like an idiot, kicking your feet with giddiness, and just soaking up every word to get to the HEA? That was Only In Your Dreams for me. I literally couldn’t stop reading (hence writing this review at 3am) because every minute was pure adorable-ness.

Melody was coming out of a terrible 6 year relationship with a manipulative asshole, only to find the guy she loved through her teenage years still pining for her when she moved back home. Except now Zac wasn’t keeping his pining a secret. He was so loving, so attentive, and so patient - he was basically Noah from The Notebook, which is the highest praise I can give him.

The spice was delicious. These two weren’t afraid to play with each other, from a roll in the mud to a bar bathroom. Zac would’ve happily had Melody for every meal if he could survive on her as a diet.

I’m really really hoping we get a Summer and Brooks follow-on book, because I want that friends to lovers romance so bad. And we better get to see what happens with Noah too, because he was the sweetest 20 year old kid ever. I loved the side characters.

My favorite romance narrator duo of Teddy Hamilton and Carly Robins crushed it on the audiobook. I will literally listen to anything they record.

Only in Your Dreams by Ellie K. Wilde was such a fun start to the Oakwood Bay series. If you love small-town, brother’s best friend, sports romance this one may be your cup of tea.

This was my first book by Ellie and I loved listening to the audiobook and reading along. Melody Woods is back in her small hometown of Oakwood Bay after being gone for 10 years. Her life is turned upside down, her boyfriend of six years dumps her, she's broke, and on top of that her twin brother, Parker is pushing her to take his spot on a camping trip.

Zac Porter has been pining for his best friend's twin Melody since they were in their teens. She has always been off-limits, after messing up his chances ten years ago, Zac believes he's lost her for good. But life works in mysterious ways, when Melody shows up at the campsite instead of Parker, he knows he must fight and prove he's worthy.

Gosh, these two were so cute. Their chemistry and banter were top tier. The way Zac was obsessed with Melody was everything 🙂‍↕️. Only in Your Dreams was sexy and funny with wonderful secondary characters. I'm excited to read the next book in this series.

This book took me by surprise with how much I loved it, and the narration was fantastic as well.

Great Listen

I originally started this book out with an e-read and it was taking me so long to get through. I switched over to audio and finished it in 2 days. The narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life and bringing out personality.

This was exactly the fun, light, spicy romance that I needed right now! I loved that it had the feel of a sports romance, but the characters were a little older (Zac is a college football coach). It started out with a wild comedy of errors that held my attention right from the beginning. It was childhood friends to lovers with “it’s always been you” vibes, and Melody and Zac had great banter and chemistry. She was the grump and he was the sunshine, and it fit the story perfectly. Zac is Melody’s brother’s best friend, and she has always been off-limits, so it was entertaining to watch them try to hide their developing relationship from their friends. I loved their friend group and I’m so excited that Only Between Us just released (featuring Brooks’ love story). I recommend this book for anyone looking for a fun sports romance!
