Resumen del Editor

A Wall Street Journal bestseller.

Secrets told in the church ladies' room are supposed to stay in the ladies' room. But that doesn't mean that what Trudy overhears there during her great-aunt Gertrude's funeral won't change the rest of her life.

Trudy has a daughter in the middle of a major rebellion, a two-timing husband who has been cheating for their entire married life, and a mother with Alzheimer's residing in the local nursing home. She doesn't really need a crumbling old house about to fall into nothing but a pile of memories and broken knickknacks.

Billy Lee Tucker, resident oddball in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, lived next door to Gert, and in her will she leaves him the funds to help Trudy remodel the old house. That's fine with Billy Lee, because he's been in love with Trudy since before they started school. And just spending time with her is something he'd never ever allowed himself to dream about.

A beautiful home rises up from the old house on Broadway, and right along with it rises up a relationship. But is Trudy too scarred from what she heard in the ladies' room to see a lovely future with Billy Lee?

Did not want it to end ...

The Ladies Room was a fun, enjoyable book that made me happy, mad, and sad at times. From living in the south most of my life I could identify with the characters, the food, and the gossip! I literally had a hard time putting the book down and was so sorry when I finished it. I want more books just like this. Very satisfying and wholesome!

Happy Ending

New to this author and narrator and love both! The story of Trudy and Billy Lee is a sweet romance that takes time while you drink ice tea on the porch and lovingly restore an old neglected home. It's about their souls being restored just like the home. It's about Trudy, at 40, finally coming into her own and becoming the woman she was meant to be instead of the doormat she was. .... Billy proving that good things come to those that wait. This is not a book filled w/hot sex scenes ..... not even one. But there's plenty of romance and humor and you find yourself cheering for both of them. Heartwarming, relaxing, perfect for a lazy afternoon.

Fun fluff brought to you by McDonalds fast food restaurants

If you want to take a mental vacation where you can:

1. Shed all your problems
2. Start a new life
3. Be suddenly wealthy
4. Renovate your dream house
5. Be adored by a generically perfect man
6. Loose weight without realizing it
7. Feel like McDonalds is mentioned too often and in too much detail ...

Then this is the book for you!

Okay, the book does include worries about getting old, caring for your elderly parents, self-imagine problems, toxic relationships, and ungrateful children--so it's not all fun and games. But it's mostly fluff and I'm okay with that because non-brain taxing fluff is what I needed for my own personal mental vacation right now. And I do like that church and prayer are mentioned.

But how much is McDonalds paying this author? And why do I feel a sudden need for a Big Mac?

Sweet and fluffy

A mindless and easy read that never takes off its version of life through rose colored glasses.

OK - easy read

it had likable characters. the story had a lot of clichés in it which made the writing seem amateurish.

Lighthearted, fun, sweet

The female lead (Trudy) attends her bossy great aunt Gert's funeral, only to end up in the church's ladies room, overhearing a conversation between her cousins about the many infidelities of Trudy's husband. It seems that everyone in town knows what has been going on for years, except Trudy. Embarrassed, hurt, and angry, Trudy leaves the church to embark on the rest of her life - without the cheating husband. She moves into Great Aunt Gert's neglected house to discover that the old woman hired the single man next door to renovate the old place. Trudy and the neighbor come to rely on one another and discover just how wise Great Aunt Gert really was. You'll enjoy being along for the amazing changes that occur in Trudy's life.
