Inspector de Silva is caught up in the excitement when a professional theatre company comes to Nuala, but matters take a dark turn when the company's actor manager is murdered.

Our inspector has a new case to solve, and he has to consider some very unpalatable motives for the crime. He will need all his persistence, coupled with his wife, Jane's, invaluable help to unmask the villain of the piece.

I enjoyed this book. The leading characters are pleasant people with a happy comfortable marriage. This was a nice change where too many people had problems and were disruptive to everyone around them. The story, set in Ceylon, kept my interest. I have already listened to 3 of this series and look forward to the fourth.

Enjoyable story.

This 3rd installment of Inspector de Silva in Nuala series was quite boring whodunit story and not as charming with period colonial details compared to 1st and 2nd outings. I only read this about half way and gave up. I recommend you read the first two in the series that were quite good, but skip this one. Also some of the voices from the narrator were rather exaggerated and annoying here, while they were better in the earlier outings.

3rd Nuala installment not very good
