If I could give this Book & the Audio more than 5 Stars I would...
The writing and Storyline are Perfect. The Narration is Perfect. Everyone Needs to Read and Listen to this book!!
Book - Can we say OMG HOLY HOTNESS. This book is So HOT, STEAMY, KINKY and DIRTY and just the best read/listen this year so far. Right from the start this book pulls you in and OMG I couldn't put it down and/or stop listening for anything. The starting Dynamic between Roe and Travis is Great. They just want it to be sex and boy it is.. Some raw and Dirty Kinky sex. You can tell as the story goes along that it will be a slow transition into a "relationship" and that is what both characters need. Travis gives Roe everything he needs. I don't want to spoil the ending, but this book ended on a great note, really sweet, and I am glad they ended up with a HEA because Roe (and Travis) both deserve a great, long future together..
Audio - Iggy Toma's narration for this book is perfection. Just an Outstanding job well done with this book. The Author picked the perfect narrator, and he pulled it off without a hitch. I can literally not list one thing wrong with this narration.
p.s. I keep using the word perfect in this review, but I really cant think of another word that sums this book up other than completely and totally perfectly done all around.

Great Listen!

I loved this story and the narrator so much! The characters were all so real. Heidi Cullinan can write some of the hotest sex scenes ever.

whoa! Amazing.

I don't usually expect kink novels to be this deep. But Hell... I ached and cried and laughed. So fucking good. ALL of the characters were complex and relatable, even the 'villains'. None of the hero's were infallible, or always had the right flowery words. Plus, it had EXCELENT character voice that was both consistent and endearing. Iggy is one of the best narrators ever, he has an AMAXING range of not only a range of voices for characters, but for his narration as well. He stayed firmly in character from start to finish and was BARELY recognizable from other characters I've heard him narrate. He really puts the 'acting' in voice-acting! Overall, one of the BEST audio books I have experienced.

I unexpectedly LOVED this book. So Sexy!! and Good

I did not know what to expect with this book. First, it's a cowboy book. Now, I can get behind the stereotypical sexy cowboy trope as much as anyone, but cowboy books... cowboy *romance* novels? In my experience they are extremely hit or miss and more often cheesy miss than steamy hit. Second, I was introduced to Heidi Cullinan by listening to Love Lessons. Those books are fun, quirky, and contain a ton of almost tongue in cheek nods to pop culture. I love them, but I can't imagine that tone or writing style being a good blend with the first.

Holy cow! This book is NOT Love Lessons. Not even a little. Those books are cheeky and sassy and set in college. They certainly have sexy moments, but are more full of sweet and make me think hearts and flowers. This book is down and dirty. And better still, it is still a Heidi Cullinan book. We get characters that we like and care about, who make real connections. The uber-hot bdsm sex doesn't feel forced or gratuitous and doesn't come at the expense of a story and it's characters. Ultimately, it really *is* a sweet, hearts and flowers romance, but it is much grittier and on-the-page *dirty* than the other audio books by her that I have listened to.

If bdsm and hot gay sex are not your thing, give this one a pass. If they are your thing, or you can tolerate them and have enjoyed other mm romances - like Heidi Cullinan, Iggy Toma, cowboys ... or just good writing and beautifully flawed characters finding their way ... this book is probably for you.

Roe learns to love and that he is worth something

Story 4.5 stars, Narration 5 stars plus.

Iggy Toma as the narrator is genius. His voice is perfect for Roe and since the entire book is from Roe's perspective, it is awesome. Iggy does a good job with all the other characters as well.

I was in the mood for a cowboy story and since this book was part of my Romance Package on Audible, and I liked the sound of the narrator, I started it.

Roe was really messed up by his family and so called friends in Iowa. He went thru an awful hell (being kicked out of home for being gay as just a start) before he ends up at Nowhere Ranch in Nebraska. He starts to get his bearings and decides to go to a gay bar hours out of town only to run into Travis, the owner of the ranch. Against the clang of warning bells, he and Travis hook up. At this point the sex is kinky and I start some investigation and realize they are going to get really kinky. I figure I am this far into it, I might as well continue. If it gets too icky I can always bail. I now know that fisting will happen. I have read about fisting and seen it in porn, but it does nothing for me. There is a lot of sex in this book. Some of it is a turn on and some is, well not a turn on.

Roe is kind of feral, too much human contact and he flees. Travis kind of understands this and I think he falls for Roe immediately and everything he does is calculated to gentling Roe and claiming him. Other characters are introduced including Roe's family, which starts that feral fleeing feeling all over again. But this time Travis is there to calm Roe. Also his friend Haley is there and she has inserted claws (in a nice way) into him.

One thing I did not expect was one of the best take downs of an anti gay religious zealot I have ever read in a fiction book.

The ending is a little over the top to me as the domestication of Roe goes way beyond where we started and way beyond what you would ever contemplate at the beginning of this story. It gets kind of sappy actually with almost all problems and conflicts tied up in a very sweet bow. I survived because of the narrators voice being so perfect for Roe and the author did such a good job of keeping Roe's unique persona tracking all the way thru the book.

I do believe this is one that I will come back to in print and for sure again on audio.

This starts off and stays spicy ❤️ The romance/relationship and character development takes a while to start but it's worth the wait. Loved it.

Something Extraordinary In The Middle Of Nowhere!

Was not sure what to expect when I downloaded this book. Loved the cover, being a gay Montana cowboy type, expecting the story to be very bad. It totally took me by surprise! This story actually has a lot of heart! It was well written and exceptionally well read. It is about a man at the end of his rope, uncomfortable, self loathing who gets on a journey of finding and accepting who he is. And finds redemption and a greater sense of self worth in the end. For the most part it is very honest and down to earth with very believable characters. The sex scenes are quite hot and very exciting and at times visually graphic. Fell in love with it in the end. It has a great heart at it's core and took me on a memorable ride.

4 stars for Iggy Toma's narration. I don't think I could of got through all the kinkiness without him lol. Honestly, if I read it on my own I probably would not have enjoyed it as much. He was pretty solid.

3.75 stars for the story.
