Love and trust

Great continuation of the renegade saga. I really enjoyed the narrators, the flow of the story, and the realness of the characters. Some characters don’t do what we want, or take longer to get to their destiny, yarros does this beautifully.

I really enjoyed the book, but the first book in the series was still probably my favorite of the series so far.

Adrenaline packed series

I loved Nova’s story I’m this adrenaline fueled extreme action adventurous love story. Wonderful characters.

Better than I anticipated...

Landon was not super likable in Wilder’s book, other than knowing he was loyal to his original crew. Also learning of his earlier transgressions with Wilder/Rachel did not bode well. But his storyline here was actually pretty interesting and the author portrayed the strong chemistry/connection between Landon and Rachel very well. Even though we know of his previous background as a manwhore, there is no cheating in the current storyline portrayed! His poor past choices come up frequently, but that behavior stops abruptly when he finds out Rachel is back in the picture. She made him (rightfully!) grovel for a long time, but could ultimately not fight their connection. The storyline plot twists near the end were very interesting! I am looking forward to the last book with Penna! Erin Mallon was good as always, especially her male voice. Lee Samuels also fit his role very well. Great series!

Not great

More young immature live than romance or spice. could not relate. Brought me back to high school or college drama but the spice wasn't engaging and lacked pulling emotional romance. As an adventure book it was good and the adoption twist at the end was too little too late to say I liked the book as a whole.

not nearly as good as Wilder

maybe I'm too old for this story.
the main character, Rachel, supposed bad A$$, Rebel wanna Be and yet she is nothing but drama and self pity. we could have done with half of her whining and a lot more movement and action.
I got very tired of the female narrator as well.
not very happy that I spent a credit on this second book in the series. I am seriously considering walking away and just leaving book #3 for someone else to read!

Gravely breathy female narrator

The story itself was ok…. Not as good as the first book, but good enough to continue. You kind of know what to expect based off the first book. The story did drag on a bit in a few sections. Yarros was trying to build tension between the main characters but she did a better job of it in the first book.

The absolute most difficult part of this book was the female narrator (male narrator was good). Why that style of voice was chosen or desired it beyond me….. it was painful at many points, like nails on a chalkboard, and I almost abandoned this book because of it. If you want to continue the series, I recommend reading the second book instead of listening. Because of this narration, I will not be moving on to the 3rd book anytime soon, if ever!
