HOT AS F***!!!

I'm writing this after just having finished book 1. Let me just say, my credit is already well spent. I'm not sure why I haven't been all up in this author's shit before now but the book has all the feels and sex scenes freaking hot. It's been quite a while since I've been so impressed by an author's ability to tell such a good story and still have me wiggling in my seat while listening. I normally have to either go for the great story or great sex... why can't all my authors fill my book needs like this one did! Lucky me, there's still 4 books to go!!!

It's basically porn

I tried, I really did, but I couldn't even finish the first book. This is some of the worst writing I've read (or listened to) in forever.

Let's start with the fact that there is almost no plot to speak of. It's all sex, all the time. Just label it Erotica already; this does not belong in the Fic & Lit category. I am not opposed to MM sex, but the scenes weren't even very good.

Can we talk about toxic masculinity? That's the main trait most of the men have. I also love (not) how the meanest insult God can think of is to call Day a whiny bi*ch, a woman, etc. And what is up with God's family and his never-ending caretaking of a mother who never once considered that her husband was a violent, abusive POS and blame all her woes on her son? He never holds her responsible for anything, and she was quite the enabler.

Nothing is realistic. The drug raid was stupid, especially the way Cash behaved. No captain would ever keep those two as partners. The few breadcrumbs of plot are just there to string us along between sex scenes.

Ugh. The narration was ok, not spectacular, not awful. The story was so bad, I just have no words. So happy I can return this for basically ANYTHING else.

So Much Alpha Hotness!

*Still fanning self* I’m late to the A.E. Via party, but I’m so glad I finally arrived! I’ve had her books for a long time, but when the Nothing Special audio box set came out, I dove right in. Aiden Snow is one of my favorite narrators and holy hotness ya’ll he really made this audio for me. He did an amazing job with his narration of all of A.E. Via’s men we meet in this series. He kept me fully immersed in this story and I was finding any good excuse to pop my headphones back in! Aiden just made these growly, alpha males come to life! I could go on and on about the narration, but it’s the amazing world and stories that A.E. Via has written that made this audio. Along this five books in this box set we meet some amazing men. We first meet then Detectives God and Day and the task force they ultimately build around them. Four books later and I still have such a soft spot for them, and if pressed, I’d admit they are my favorite! Close behind them were Detectives Ruxs and Green who were endlessly entertaining in their antics as the Enforcers for their now Lieutenants God and Day. I loved how their relationship evolved from partners on the force, as well as at home. I also have such a soft spot for Syn, the Sergeant working for God and Day. I loved him finding his true self and owning his sexuality with his man Fury. Detective Michaels story was also a highlight of this series. I enjoyed his enemies to lovers story with bounty hunter Judge. Last we get to know Tech, the technology behind the team equipping them with their gadgets and keeping them safe with his work. I loved seeing him showing his team he could be an asset in the field, not just behind his monitors. I enjoyed seeing him fall for the newest member of the team, Steel, a highly decorated Marine. In edition to all these men working with God and Day in their elite task force was some other amazing people we meet along the way. Such as God’s brother Genesis, and Curtis, the adoptive son of two of the team members. There was so much to love about this series so far! I laughed, fanned myself, and frequently found myself with a smile on my face as I listened to these amazing stories. I’m so glad there are two more available in audio to come, because I need more!!

So Disappointed! **contains a revised review

I thought I would be writing a review being effusive in how much I loved God and Day, until I hit the last several chapters. This is going to sound dramatic, but I really feel like I’m going to cry right now. There was absolutely no reason to start the foursome at the end of book one. I thought surely God wouldn’t be able to go through with it, but I would be wrong. The more I listened the more I started getting a sick feeling in my stomach and honestly felt like someone just kicked me in the gut. I bought the bundle for books 1-5 in this series and I’m trying to make myself finish them because up until the disgusting betrayal of their supposed love for each other I completely loved this couple. The other reviewer said that the foursome continues to be referenced in the series but I guess I will just have to skip over them as I had to do after I read the other review and it stated what happened at their “supposed” anniversary party. Please don’t think I’m a prude, I just get so invested in the books I read and the characters and I don’t understand how you can watch the person you love more than life itself be sexual with someone else. I am so sad right now. I wish I could erase the last chapters from my memory because that’s all I can think about and I can’t get them out of my head.
Ok, so I’m coming back to revise my review. Everything I said above still holds true. However, now that I’ve sort of dealt with my mini breakdown after God and Day’s book, I did finish book 2 and it was wonderful! Syn and Fury were amazing together! Syn’s vulnerability pulled at my heart! I loved that the guys immediately accepted Fury into their group. I still love God and Day so I try and ignore the references to their continuing foursome activities. Again I really don’t see why this aspect had to be put in the storyline. Nevertheless, I really do recommend this series.

This isnt a book for straight men at all. Wouldn't have listened to one word uf i knew before hand

Best series in this genre

This series is so damn good that I’m already listening to all 50 hours for a second time. Don’t miss out.

good deal for 1 credit

Soo I have to start with that it was amazing deal = 5 full books + bonuss for 1 credit.Books are enjoyable, I maybe would like to have a little more detective work and mistery, but it was an easy listen. all five books in a row was maybe a little to simular. listen to one and you have heard it all, next books are basically the same, with a little change in charectors and situations, but I still say its a great great deal!

Bar scene

Why didn't Leo drive God's truck? Why would he pay the bartender to drive God's truck? I mean, Leo did take a cab to the bar. This is the only part of the book that made no sense..

Awesomeness personified

Story: Where do I even start?! I was absolutely speechless when this audio finished. Almost 52 (!!!!) hours of pure alpha male hotness with dynamic action, sweet and emotional relationships and gripping plot lines. This set is absolutely brilliant and everything you'd want to see in a romance series centered around law enforcement!
The characters are amazingly diverse and the found family relationship between them is very well developed. The stories tie into each other beautifully and while each book is focused on one couple, there are plenty of insights and updates into the whole group. AE Via created a masterpiece of a series here and no praise is too much!
Narration: Aiden Snow did an absolutely brilliant job here! Each character has their own voice and they are crazily diverse! The narration is easy to follow and performance is top notch. The emotions are pouring out of every word! Perfection!

Did not finish

This was weird. Macho men talking about love like teenage girls. And so very cheesy. Shallow characters being annoying while thinking they are witty. Not. Some occurrences were rediculous and others very predictable.

The narration was bland. Lots of sentences in the same intonation and rhythm, whether he was reading sex or a stroll in the park. Especially the sex was very boring.

Sex, and strong men!

This is one of the best audio series I've binged through. The characters are all well written and given great energy by the narrator. I wouldn't be able to pick a favourite book out of the set and literally struggled to fall asleep some nights wanting one more chapter. I have listened to these in the bath, cooking dinner, walking my dog and anywhere else I can squeeze in some audible time! Been 50 odd hours of listening it never got old or tired, just grew and grew as the stories went on. I will work back through these again at some point.

Each book focuses on a different character but I love that the characters from the previous stories are still present as the books progress. it gives a real feeling of familiarity and continuation. I would love to see this been made into a TV show. However they may have to tone down the sex a little for the TV audiences lol.

Anyone looking for a new universe to jump into, look no further! Strong men showing strength and heart! What more could you want!

Love story between the police

All the ups and downs throughout the love between police and their difficult life. Hard to imagine when in the UK we are trying to route out the homophobic policemen who make a difficult for the gay community. This is interesting thought provoking throughout. Well written and well narrated enjoy.

What a great series!
Aiden snow brings the characters wonderfully.
Every characters has their own way of making the stories more compelling and entertaining. I laughed and cried, it’s a roller coaster of emotions.
It’s really amazing.

Wasn’t sure but….

OK, I wasn’t sure about this series but like a bargain and 50 hours for one credit seem like a good one.
The stories follow an elite police department and their relationships. Lots of sexual activity between the members (all male) and little police action. BUT it works. Each book is a standalone, however many characters appear in the other books.
Humour threads through the series and I laughed out loud on occasions.
I will get the rest in the series!

Fantastic series

Absolutely loved these. The stories main plot follow different couples wishin a brilliantly awesome abs tough narcotics division.
The narrator is fantastic bringing everyone to life and so believable. And believe me when I write this is steamy steamy steamy. Wow!
Tastefully and believably done and written so well. Going to find more now!

Not what I was expecting.

To explicit for my liking and I wasn’t expecting that. I thought the basic story was good.
