USA Today bestselling author Sara Ney sizzles with a quick-witted, sexy romp about an eager entrepreneur and a cocky football star who couldn’t be more different—or more into each other.

Harlow James is destined to rock the dating world. The creator of Kissmet, the app helping singles find love, she’s in New York to secure advertisers. But the sassy, small-town girl can’t help meddling in other people’s business.

When she runs into a muscular stranger at her go-to food truck, Harlow doesn’t realize he’s Landon “Andy” Burke, the NFL’s most-wanted free agent, in town to talk contracts. She just sees a hottie about to get burned by undercooked street food. Though she tries to warn him, he shrugs her off, making a little wager instead.

In a messy twist of fate, Andy finds himself in the same hotel as Harlow. When she collects on their bet, they make a mind-blowing—and bed-rocking—connection. But after the weekend, she goes home to Green Bay to her goofy dad and corgi, ready to focus everything on work again. Kissmet, however, has other ideas, when Andy knocks on her door…

I loved this book. I was able to read the ARC before the release but just had to listen to the audio version when it was released today. It did not disappoint! Both narrators were perfect. The way they added personality to the characters was on point. Love it!

Super funny from the first page! This story had me laughing nearly the whole way through. Landon and Harlow’s banter was hilarious (while realistic gross 🤣) IYKYK! From mustache disguises, hidden identity, swoony gestures, to a lot of laughs their story was great! The only thing I can say is I would have liked a little more plot, but this is definitely a romance relationship lead story! Definitely a feel good read!

Andy & Harlow: good book. I was thoroughly entertaining be this book. I found the story to be funny and steamy. Since the relationship and the book occurs over the course of a couple of days, it's very surface level. There's no real drama that occurs. Everything is just chill. Not bad, I usually like a little more to the books I read. Like a troubled past or present, some sort of dilemma or suspense. But this was okay.

really funny

Cute story, but it moved way too fast. male narrator was grating and spoke at 100mph.

Harlow James, a sassy small-town girl turned dating app creating queen, is visiting a food truck in New York when she bumps into Landon "Andy" Burke, a super hot NFL free agent. The way they meet—over some seriously undercooked street food—is hilarious, and honestly, it set the tone for the whole story.

Andy is totally swoon-worthy—patient, sweet, and super understanding when it comes to Harlow’s emotional hang ups. He knows she’s the one and works hard to prove it. Seriously, he fought for it! Also, Harlow’s dad and Kevin the dog are total scene-stealers—had me cracking up!

Narrators Felicity Cross & Alexander Cendese were amazing. They brought the characters to life in a way that made the banter feel so real and fun. The chemistry between them? Chef’s kiss!

If you want a romance that’s funny, cute, and has a swoony hero, this is it. Totally recommend!

I received an advance review copy from Netgalley for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is definitely laugh out loud funny and I love it. The only thing that would have been better is if it were a duet.

If you’re looking for a funny quick read look no further!! I found myself laughing throughout this book! I was hooked pretty quick and didn’t want to put it down! I loved Harlow and Andy! Of you’re an audio lover the audio of this one was great! The narrators did a great job bringing this book to life!Overall this was a great read and can’t wait for the next book in this series!

A great read

It’s cute but the instalove is a bit hard to get past. There didn’t seem to be any real conflict or emotion to hook me in. Both the leads were cringey at times but overall I liked their chemistry. The male narrator spoke way too fast and he over exaggerated the voices to the point that it seemed cartoonish and it took me out of the story.

Cute but not a standout

Harlow James just wanted some advertisers—not a hot, half-delirious footballer crashing her elevator ride.

She’s a Wisconsin girl in NYC, single, thriving, and casually saving lives at food trucks. Her app, Kissmet, matches people with destiny. But when she warns a suspiciously handsome stranger about salmonella and ends up footing part of his food bill, it’s not exactly the meet-cute she had in mind.

Enter Landon “Andy” Burke: America’s football fantasy and currently nursing a bad batch of chicken—and an even worse opinion of meddling strangers. Too bad fate’s already drafted these two into a game they didn’t plan to play.

🏉 Why It Scores Big

• Swoon Control: Andy falls first and hard. His emotional availability is downright edible.
• Oblivious = Adorable: Harlow has no clue who he is—and Andy eats that up more than the cursed kabob.
• Daddy Dilemma: Harlow’s dad catching feelings for her boyfriends before she does? Classic small-town chaos.
• Ex Appeal: Toxic ex alert! Just the right dash of drama without drowning the romance.
• Andy Is a Giver: And yes, he gives exactly where readers want him to (i.e. he likes to go downtown).

🏈 Fumbles in the Playbook

• Mustache-Gate: Andy shows up looking like a cartoon bandit with a fake handlebar mustache and Harlow doesn’t blink?
• Sweatpant Controversy: Grey does it for Harlow, but I’m team Black Sleep Pants all day.
• Sporty Tension: She hates football; he is football. That’s a whole subgenre waiting to happen.
• The majority of the book takes place in less than a week’s time.

🎧 The Voice Game

Alexander Cendese? Certified MVP of narration—his emotional delivery and rich tone bring Andy to life. Felicity Cross has a pleasant vibe, though the alternating POVs would’ve been stronger with duet narration. Let each voice shine in its lane.

💬 Quotes

“Just a small-town girl, chillin’ in a big bad world.”

“My friends had me convinced you might be hatfishing me.”
“Hatfishing? Is that an online dating thing?”
“Simply put, it’s when a guy wears a hat, so you have no idea if he is bald or not.”

“This life ain’t for the faint of heart, so I need someone who's in it with me.”

This was such a fun read! Sara Ney's unfiltered humor had me laughing so hard my cheeks hurt. Between the food fiasco, Harlow's sports-obsessed dad, and Kevin the dog, I couldn't stop smiling.

The story moves fast, but Harlow and Andy's connection feels so genuine, while he gets to be himself, not the famous football star the world sees him as.

Sara Ney is an auto-buy author for me, and I can't wait for more in the Not Yours series, especially with the dating app playing a role (hopefully with some fun cameos!) My only complaint was every time the male narrator laughed as the female character, I wish it would've been a genuine duet performance.

A fast-paced romantic comedy!
