Enjoyable, but not memorable!

Not Another Bad Date by Rachel Gibson was somewhat entertaining, but not one of my favorites. Nicole Poole has a nice voice, and her performance was good. This is credit worthy if you are in the mood for an enjoyable, but not memorable experience.

Just too formulaic and predictable for me

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It took several start and I would shut it off after 10 minutes and go to another book. I did get through it when I turned it on at bedtime and fell asleep listening to it night after night.

If you’ve listened to books by Rachel Gibson before, how does this one compare?

I have read and enjoyed her other stories (not in this series). This was just flatter, just too, too predictable. Romance has a forgone ending but there was not enough freshness in the situations and character to get lost in it as I would a good story.

Have you listened to any of Nicole Poole’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She does a GREAT job with the narration in this book. Her voices for each character are very distinct which makes dialog so easy to follow.

Any additional comments?

Personally, I did not enjoy this. I could anticipate every upcoming scene, every emotional up and down. I like a romance book that has more depth to the characters so that I can really get into their hearts and minds.

The Writers

Loved reading the series about four writers. This was the fourth and last. So enjoyed their stories. Just sorry to come to an end!

A good solid read

Wish we had more interactions with the writer friends. I missed them, but solid effort. I liked Adele and her story.

Decent Book

Not Another Bad Date" by Rachel Gibson had all the hallmarks of a classic romantic comedy, but ultimately, it landed in the "just okay" category for me. While there were moments of genuine humor and some charming characters, the overall experience felt a bit uneven.
