Heavy but worth it!

This book should come with 27 trigger warnings, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t believe in trigger warnings. This is one of the heaviest books I’ve read in a very long time, it is not great literature, and it’s certainly not what I would call a thriller, nor even a mystery, it’s dark, brooding, with very heavy subject matter. But written in a way that feels real and believable, which makes it even harder to digest. I will admit there is one part of the ending that I absolutely despise and it just almost ruined it for me. But given the entire books theme, it made sense that that would be a truth for these people. Go into this book warned, knowing that it will be worth all the emotions you feel.

The different accents made it real.

My new favorite. Narrator sucked me in. Dreamt about the characters. Ended exactly as I’d hoped.

A beautiful book that I loved even before it paid such lovely homage to my favorite-ever book, The Hotel New Hampshire by John Irving.

Really good voice narration. Kept me hooked all the way through. Very original, one of the better books I’ve listened to.
