Publisher's summary

The chilling story of two conflicted sisters, their murdered brother, and the secrets a family hoped they’d never have to face.

The murder of jazz musician and social activist Markus Peña doesn’t come as a surprise to his estranged sisters. Melinda and Emily Peña know their controversial brother had enemies. After all, even they hadn’t spoken to Markus since their mother’s funeral two years ago.

Who killed Markus? Was it someone trying to keep his latest protest song from publication? Was it the powerful and secretive uncle of his ex-girlfriend Rebecca? Or was it one of the other women Markus had callously abandoned?

To unravel the truth, Melinda and Emily must first face their own demons. Melinda, a former social worker, suffers from PTSD—haunted by the people she failed to help and unable to maintain meaningful relationships. Emily also pushes people away—afraid she’ll get hurt and afraid they’ll find out she’s Three Strikes: a masked vigilante who violently punishes abusive men.

Markus wasn’t a good man, but he was family. And it’s up to his sisters to uncover his lifetime of lies and the truth of his death.

Haunting, gripping, and relevant, No Home for Killers explores the conflicts that tear families apart—and the tragedies that force them back together.

“An affecting tale of what we do for the ones we love.”New York Times

“Think your family is dysfunctional? Welcome to the big time.…The perfect gift for friends worried about spending the holidays with their relatives. Things could be worse.”Kirkus Reviews

“Aymar infuses his tightly plotted family drama with a perceptive look at domestic abuse, sex trafficking, and how misconceptions can drive a wedge between those who are supposed to love each other.…In just three novels, Aymar has earned a reputation for tackling hard, uncomfortable subjects in socially conscious plots with acute empathy.”Florida Sun Sentinel

Started as a 3

I’ll give it a 3.5. Started as a 3 ended with a 4. I didn’t see it coming. Overall good story.

A waste of time.

The story was not believable, and the characters did not fit well into the story.

Glad it’s over….

Should be labeled YA. Childish and couldn’t wait for it to end. Hoped for something to happen to make worth the time. It didn’t. Narrator did ok with what she had to work with but her tone added to the childishness of the story.

Interesting story and characters

I enjoyed 'No Home for Killers'. The characters were interesting and the interchanges/conversations were well written. The plot and the twists were also well written. Not a 5 star story, but good. If you find it on sale and are looking for a filler book while waiting for one of your favorite authors' next release, give it a shot.

Boring

This book is boring. Fast paced with so much going on that nothing is going on. The plot is drawn out and some scenes are predictable. Storyline could’ve been great if executed correctly.

Juvenile, Boring and Repetitive

I would have to say this is one of the most difficult books to plough through to the end. The structure of the story is an absolute mess and constantly repeats the same premises. It appears that it was all geared towards one purpose which makes this one trick pony. The performance was equally bad with a childish depiction of the characters, especially the main one. Disappointing.

Violence Sans Redemption

You wont forgive any of the flawed characters their transgressions or yourself for listening to this in its entirety.

Strange family

The story was somehow interesting. The performance was good and probably helped the story along.

Vigilante justice!

A sister duo take on a corrupt real estate mogul who is dealing in trafficked women and so much more. Police don’t seem to care so Emily and Melinda work to save the women and get some justice. However, the combination of power and money may prove to be too much and can turn deadly. Gritty story.

Strange story

Add moments that I thought the story was good, it was never great! The performance was well done, and probably why I finish the book.
