Instant Attraction

I’m glad this is a series. The attraction between these characters is written well. Finding your person is important in life.

Not bad, but....

Good story. I'll read the next one in the series because there are different character names, but I HATED the way the narrator pronounced Peyton. Like Pey-TON. Just, why? It was really annoying to listen to the entire book this way.

Slowest burned love at first sight I've ever read

Love at first sight and the slowest burn I've seen in a book under 8 hrs long. But this was worth it. The story keeps you engaged and it's hard not to love both main characters. This was my first time reading a Nicole Pyland book, and I loved it. It might have burned slow, but the fire was extra hot when it got going. Definitely recommend. I immediately went into the second book in this series because of this one.

Two committed career-driven women discover themselves, when they commit to each other!

Two young women have packed a decade of experience and worldliness into their young lives due to their very successful careers. Yet when it comes to self-discovery, they are ingenues who are unexpectedly awakened by primal recognition and longing for each other that is beyond anything they have experienced thus far in life. How do you look into the eyes of a stranger and trust them with a heart that is suddenly more vulnerable than it has ever been before? And how do you do that knowing it will change everything?

Does this actually happen? One minute it all seems exaggerated, as if people are looking through rose-colored glasses on steroids, and hyped up on clicks and media-sensationalized, overly rapturous, romance. And then they meet the one. Now, they know why all of those love songs are written, and why they are listened to over and over again. YES, it happens and the premise for this story is a sound one! For some, this self-discovery happens even later in life! These characters, like most women, were raised from day one with a list of expectations, among them, the desire to please others, be accepted by others and therefore conform. They didn't have time to ask a lot of questions, much less seek answers!

Were this not a romance novel, the author might address the challenges that time apart might present. A new perspective on one’s sexuality combined with distance, loneliness, curiosity, and possible temptation could put a lot of pressure on a new relationship. In this story, the turning point comes down to commitment! Like all relationships that last and matter, it also comes down to forgiveness! Our narrator does an excellent job of expressing fear and angst while still maintaining grace and open-mindedness!

THE CHEMISTRY IS ELECTRIC BETWEEN THE TWO YOUNG WOMEN. It is an energy that sustains them and is well-written by the author with a big dose of hot sapphic spice! My only wish is that the author would have given us more in terms of the friendship that they developed in their time together and apart. An amusing story and some witty banter often makes sex and love-making steamier and even more powerful!

Having said that, I used my imagination to fill in some of the building blocks in their relationship, based on gentle nudging from our writer. Use yours! Highly recommend!
