The book is an introduction to the Chicago series.

Alyssa Masters had been accused of a horrible crime she didn’t commit and was now the most hated woman in America. She’d lost people she’d loved, her credibility, and a part of her life. To get it back on track, she returns home to live with her mother, and has all but given up on any hope at a normal life.

Hannah Granger had been off exploring the world and finding herself, only to return home to lose her mother and a lot of what she’d found out about herself while away. When the two women meet, they discover they can help find what they’d lost and uncover more of what they could have in their lives as they attempt to navigate a complicated situation and deal with the baggage they both bring with them.

I am already looking for the next one of the scieries to see what this writer can come up with.
Narration was excellent

Such a great love story and the narration was superb! I have to say I have never listened to a Nicole pyland audio that doesn’t touch my heart❤️

I absolutely love this story. I totally appreciate seeing how the character grew and the support she had from her mom and her girlfriend. I love Nicole Pyland and all her books, and Melissa Moran is an excellent narrator.

Meaningful Love

The dedication that the women displayed for one another through times of adversity brought tears to my eyes several times during the book.

The sex; plenty of that.

Two people find each other during dark times in their respective lives. Really good story.

Hate the ending

The one thing I can say is the story was good. I didn’t like the ending b4 the epilogue. I almost threw my phone out the window. Anyone who goes through so much grief and turmoil to the point of having nightmares and then sum would seek compensation especially when people help you financially with lawyer fees and everything else. You would think you would want to give back to them!
The narrator was good except I couldn’t tell the difference between characters. She sounded the same throughout the book otherwise I would’ve rated her higher.
Nicole is one of my favorite authors but the ending was different than her other books. Once you give your main character a little bit of back bone don’t take it away and make them stupid at the end!

Good

Pretty good read, if a bit long. The story dragged a bit in the middle of the book. The narrator was pretty good, although at times the characters sounded the same. Overall I'd recommend.

The story line

Excellent listen the characters were perfect. But I thought Alyssa. Should have had gone after some kind of settlement so she could pay back her Mom & brother & herself.
Can’t wait to continue the series.
