Publisher's Summary

The ghoul population is on the increase. FACT. Creatures' numbers are dwindling. FACT.

Into this sorry state of affairs falls Eve. She's abnormal in all the ways that count to humans, but at Caelum, where she should be among her peers? Even here she's weird. No woman has more than one mate. Eve? She has seven. And the creatures that dominate her mind? There are eight of those battling for power in her soul.

With the war having come to Caelum's front door, Eve and her mates have no option but to escape the perils she faces at an Academy where anyone extraordinary is to be exterminated. On the path to safety, however, Eve and her mates must uncover exactly who she is, and what, if they can ever hope to lead normal lives. But with the revelations come more peril than any of them could have imagined.

Contains mature themes.

The final book

This was the final book of the trilogy, and worthy of the 3 credits used for each.
Reverse harem, paranormal slow burn romance. It had a new perspective on paranormal creatures and religion with the idea that creatures have 8 souls (vampire, were, gargoyle, etc) in them and that they were the original creations of God. With a spin on religion(s) and mythology about the creation of all, it was an Interesting journey.
I listened to the book on speed of 1.5 (I usually end up doing so as narration always seems way to slow in most audiobooks, perhaps that’s just me)
Narrators were a mix of good and great and I enjoyed this 3-book journey!

Just wow!

I won’t say I agree with all of the biblical standpoints, but I love how Serena took such a twist and blended the paranormal with a biblical aspect. I know she had to change up the story of the Bible to make the story work, so it still works for me. I honestly wish I had more of this story. Eve was such a breath of fresh air. Her whole story made so much sense. I loved how the whole tail unraveled. The overall narration and story was amazing. Seriously I feel as if Dre left me needing more of him throughout the story though. If I could just get more of him I would be so happy. This whole series is a definite must read for me. I am so glad I found it! Now I have to go bury my sorrows in another book or something because I can’t believe it’s over!

WOW. Hands down one of the best.

This was one of the best audible books I’ve done this year. I really enjoyed this paranormal RH it was amazing. I enjoyed the growth and even the religious take on it. & I’m not a religious person. This books pulls on all your heart strings make you laugh and wanna cry. It’s not a teen bullying book. It had very little bullying in it. I finished all three books in 2 I couldn’t stop. I was obsessed

Well that just got weird.

I generally liked this series, but the way the story takes Eve's nature and mission kinda killed it for me. Pretty much wish I had stopped with book two.

Amazing

Having the last book read to me allowed me to have that first time feeling all over again. I have loved this story since it was released and the audio for this book is no different. Amazing job!

Well thought out.

Love this story ❤️ read this one before listening to the audible so I did have a different idea of the voices of everyone in my head but they still did a good job. Love this story and with everything going on in the world it was the perfect listen ❤️

Lacking overall. Not worth the read or purchase.

Overall, the book as a whole falls ridiculously short of even the faintest of expectations.

I bought the first two books and felt touch and go with them, but chose to finish the books. However, this book was not worth the painful hours listening just to finish the series.

Storyline:
The premise of the book is good/ okay for the first 2 books. This book flipped a good bit of that and stole what enjoyment I was getting from the story. The first two books seek to release religion, but suddenly is on a mission to remove all evil from the world brought forth from the original sin- And in the most mundane way. Lots of rushed & fractured build up only to be let down further by a dull lack of physical participation on the part of the heroes and heroine during what is meant to be seen as a battle.
When the mission is accomplished, it’s a moment that strives to be like that of Harry seeing Dumbledore once more, but falls ridiculously short.

Performance: Ugh. Okay- part of the problem is in the writing.
Regarding Eve- it lends itself to a meek and innocent heroine that never leaves the “little” mindset despite Akeroyd’s attempt at Eve’s growth. That said- Jennifer Jill Araya does a wonderful and irritating job. She pulls off the character well, who is, by nature, a girl child masquerading as an irritating damsel. Anaya’s vocal whispers do come across as actual whispers in the soundtrack. The balance in volume is lacking and can make some of it hard to hear it if you have the volume set for regular dialogue. Araya is good, but annoying thanks to the writing.
Regarding Austin Rising voicing Eve’s mates: Again we come to the issue of the writing. Akeroyd has written the most cliche bunch of dude bros found in every testosterone driven frat house. Their growth is minimal and it’s saddening. Rising does a good job of pulling off the dude bro persona. However, in voicing 7 different men Rising lacks in a diverse character voice range that could have been a good base to show where these characters were from around the world.
Rising voicing (no spoiler) a new character up in their years: We know from this that Rising does have a secondary vocal character at his disposal. Unfortunately, this comes across sounding like a cartoon villain.

Not worth the read. Not worth the money.

loved

I enjoyed the last book of this 3 book series. It was a unique paranormal religious twist. I think Serena did a wonderful job and I feel she ended the series perfectly.

***Confusing***

I loved the first 2 books but book 3 is disappointing, it went on and on and im a Catholic but involving *GOD* here make it sound like God is a fiction. I can tolerate the devil being constantly used in books but directly involving God is not good dude. Anyway the saving grace of this story are the narrator's their both brilliant and the dynamic of the the chosen's is interesting to see and their relationship evolved specially Dre the grumpy lol. thank you.
