Publisher's Summary

The outstanding new thriller from number-one New York Times best-selling author Stuart Woods.

Stone Barrington isn't one to turn away in the face of danger, so when he witnesses a tricky situation underway, he jumps in to lend a hand. He never expected, though, that this favor would lead to a mutually beneficial business deal with a prominent gentleman who requires the ever-discreet services of Woodman & Weld.

But in the ruthless corporate world, no good deed goes unpunished, and Stone soon finds himself the target of a ragtag group of criminal toughs who don't appreciate his interference in their dealings. From the isolated landscape of Maine to the white-sand beaches of Key West, the trail of deception, theft, and murder will lead to a perilous confrontation.

Just Not as Good as Previous Installments

I believe that I recognize and appreciate this series for what it is and what it is not. While not great literature, Woods has developed great core characters, and diverting, if largely implausible, storylines that, for me, have been perfect for audio books. I bet I've listened to at least 20 of the books in this series, and I have been consistently entertained and satisfied. I am in short, a faithful purchaser and listener of the books in this series. But this installment and the immediately preceding installment have, for the first time, been lackluster and disappointing. Here's hoping the author gets back on key in the next instalment.

Yes, he's fine it's the story.

Good story; Great storyteller.

Great narration by Mr. Roberts as usual. He is fantastic. If I did not love love love the relationship between Stone and Dino, I would seriously reconsider reading the next volume because I am starting feel taken advantage of by the Author and the publisher. Each new novel released increasingly seems like a small part of much larger more complete storyline. In other words, we are all being charged 3 times for what should have been one novel.

He does it again ><br />

I always enjoy Stone and his adventurers.
This book however lacks Stone as the centerpiece, instead we are seeing the criminals point of view. and Stone just seems like a bored rich boy enjoying sex with every woman he meets.
I still enjoyed the book ......

Dull and duller! Save your credit!

Don't waste your credit! This was "hands down" the worst of the series. I have read most of them and this was a BIG disappointment.

This is a fun way to kill time in the car. Stone's free common sense advice from the books have helped me more that once in real life ;)
