Brash detective Rick Barron enters the infamous Hollywood fast lane in this thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Stone Barrington series.

Los Angeles, 1939. It’s Hollywood’s Golden Age, and Rick Barron is a suave and sharp detective on the Beverly Hills force. After a run-in with his captain, he finds himself demoted, but soon lands a job on the security detail for Centurion Pictures, one of the hottest studios. The white knight of such movie stars as Clete Barrow, the British leading man with a penchant for parties, and Glenna Gleason, a peach of a talent on the verge of superstardom, Rick is dubbed “the Prince of Beverly Hills” by society columnists. But when he unearths a murder cover-up and a blackmail scam, he finds himself up against West Coast wise guys whose stakes are do-or-die...

Timeless display of alliteration making one feel as if it were today in the golden age of movie makers! Great ties to the more current novels involving the Arrington years and the Barrimgtons, who follow.

Woods strikes gold, again!

Where does The Prince of Beverly Hills rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Like the change of time periods and the inclusion of real-life actors -wondered how much truth was actually incorporated into the lives of David Niven, Bugsy Siegel etc.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There were several nice new characters for a Stuart Wood novel.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Narration was okay, but would have enjoyed Tony better.

Any additional comments?

A bit anti-climatic but would work for a follow up

Like the new character - a bit anti-climatic

I really enjoyed this story, although you have to suspend reality a bit. But that in part is what makes it so compelling. Good read leaving you wanting more.
