Publisher's summary

"If one door closes and another one opens, your house is probably haunted." (Bumper sticker)

As a part-time PI and full-time grim reaper, Charley Davidson has asked a lot of questions throughout her life: Why can I see dead people? Who is the hot supernatural entity following me? How do I get gum out of my sister's hair before she wakes up? But "how do I trap not one malevolent god but three?" was never among them. Until now. And since those gods are on earth to kill her daughter, she has little choice but to track them down, trap them, and cast them from this dimension.

There's just one problem. One of the three stole her heart a very long time ago. Can the Razer, a god of absolute death and destruction, change his omniscient spots, or will his allegiances lie with his brothers?

Those are just a few of the questions Charley must answer, and quick. Add to that a homeless girl running for her life, an innocent man who's been charged with murdering the daughter of a degenerate gambler, and a pendant made from god glass that has the entire supernatural world in an uproar, and Charley has her hands full. If she can manage to take care of the whole world-destroying gods thing, we're saved. If not, well...

The plot thickens

This book is an erotic romance with paranormal.

Love the series.

Charley is a grim reaper, a God, mother, friend and trying to save the world. But as she goes back to work on cases her "beep"'s life is in danger, besides saving the world she find out that the man she married is not who he appears to be. Secrets can tear people apart and they have so many. A video is released and going viral. Reyes's sister is missing, children are dying from a curse, Uncle Bob soul is on the line, she is hired for a case of a missing but believed to be dead woman, but it is nothing more than a normal day in the life of Charley Davidson.

I used to like this series..... but....

What disappointed you about The Curse of Tenth Grave?

I like the premise of this story, I like the characters and I like the narrator. I love that Charlotte is the grim reaper and is a little bumbling and that she talks to dead people. I think when people pass through her the stories of those people and their feelings are well written. I like that she is doing what she has to do to protect her child and I like her relationship with Reyus (sp?). What I don't like is the over the top sex scenes. The crude language in the sex scenes is plain distasteful to me and it seems to have gotten progressively worse as the series has worn on.

Would you ever listen to anything by Darynda Jones again?

I am not sure if I will buy anything of hers again which I think is a shame since she is a good storyteller when not wallowing in sex scenes that are far too descriptive. I really love this storyline and used to look forward to the next book in the series. I wish I could have the PG or even R rated version of the story rather than the X rated story. Listening to it on audio is more distasteful than reading it because if you are reading it at least you can skim through these scenes. I would rather have a shorter book than have to listen to the never ending sex scenes. It is almost like she has run out of storyline and has had to augment it with graphic sex scenes.

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think that Lorelei King does an exceptional job with the characters voices, I can easily discern who is "talking" throughout. She remains true to the voice throughout the series.

Another one bytes the mind!

When ever I see a Darynda Jones book come out I rub my hands together and cackle with glee. Which usually makes the people around me look at me strangely. I love her stuff that much and this book doesn't disappoint.

Love the book, but...

Love the book and characters. I just hate the sex parts. It's just too graphic for me. But I think the stories are so great and this book in particular was so entertaining! I just fast forward thru the sex scenes. Wish she had a clean version ! My rating overall because of sex scenes 2 stars but story and performance 5 stars!

EVERYONE NEEDED TO READ THUS SERIES

I couldn't stop listening, now that I'm done I have to listen again. I can't wait for the next book. so we'll written and preformed that I laughed out loud and people would stare at me. I enjoyed every second of this amazing book. Thank you so much for making my commute to school, time spent cleaning, walks in the neighborhood and all other otherwise boring task more tolerable. I was finding things to do so I could keep listening and (I hat to admit this) I put off studying for midterms to listen.

Please put me out of my misery

I have listened to all 10 Charley Davidson books and what began as a fun foray into a new supernatural world has dissolved into loose sloppy plot lines, graphic sex departing from the tone and style of previous books, suspension of belief in facts and character behavior from prior books. These books feel like lather, rinse repeat. Oh look - Charley and Reyes don't trust each other, keep secrets from each other, Charley runs off because she knows better than everyone despite her lack of EVER learning from her prior stupidity. I simply cannot swallow that after the discovery of who Charley is and what she is supposed to represent that she's has learned absolutely nothing and has gained no wisdom and continues to bumble along throughout life acting like a flippant teenager. Then we throw in a twist where good is bad and bad is good? The creator is the big enemy and a manipulator. Charley and Reyes can still not manage to function properly as a team or a couple. Barf - I'm out.

Love this series!!!!

I absolutely love this series. I started on the series by just reading a random description of book #1. I was hooked from the first word and voraciously read all that had been written up to that point and now await each new book impatiently. Charlie reminds me a little of an other worldly Stephanie Plum ((Janet Evanovich). The same zany wit from the heroine! I can't imagine just reading these. By listening to them on Audible I think you get so much more of the dry wit and one liners . Lorelei King has the perfect voice for this series and captures all the characters' different voices just great. Can't wait for #11 in January 2017!!!!!
