Does she not have the worst family ever?

Attention don’t read further if you don’t want spoilers:

First, if you have been traumatize abused or mistreated by a parent don’t read or listen to this book. I was praying for the mother’s death by the first chapter. The verbal abuse was especially hard to listen to. So sad! And the twin sister was not any better, terrorizing the protagonists like that instead of just confronting her. And in the end she just goes back to her sister.. Shrug. A short read, but I did enjoy the performance. It’s interesting to hear different regional UK accents.

The end left me scratching my head

Good story and good narrator. I wanted to smack the crap out of the mother. I listened to the end a second time to see if I missed something but I did not. I guess the author wants you to draw your own conclusion.

Would be 5 stars but…

The author uses dementia and Alzheimer’s interchangeably as if they’re the same disease. They’re not, and that aspect bothered me. However the story was so good that it’s actually disappointing that no one caught this error in publishing. Excellent “read” regardless!

A must read! This book was written so well. Unique in its story line and a true psychological thriller!
I couldn’t put this book down, loved it until the end!

Entertaining

This is the 2nd Denzil book I’ve listened to and her writings move along without a lot of excessive details about characters appearance or the surroundings, which I appreciate. This storyline kept me guessing and rooting for the main character. The narrator was a great fit. However, the ending wasn’t the most satisfying for me and it felt rushed.

Outstanding read…one you will not put down!

Just when you think you’ve figured it all out, there’s another twist that leaves you wondering what just happened.

Loved this book!

Great plot and character development! Can’t wait for the next book to see what happens.

I had no idea how this story was going to turn the way it did. I thought it was pretty easy to figure out, but then out-of left field part 2 happened and bam!

Now this is how your twist and turn. What a fun curvy road...actually kept me guessing!
