Publisher's Summary

Standing at what I believe is the precipice of my life, I, Oren Demetri, was too young to understand that it wasn't and too old to imagine that it couldn't be.

The already hefty accumulation of my successes and failures, bravery and fears, and rewards and suffering, had brought me to this point. It was hard to contemplate the things I'd done, and yet, in reality I'd only begun to learn the possibilities.

I suppose that's how it was for me at 29 years of age on the brink of all I'd ever wanted without fully realizing the price I would pay. Yet in that moment, I knew there would be no cost too great or sacrifice I wouldn't make. I had no idea how far-reaching that moment of self-discovery would be; because as the congregation's murmurs quieted, bleeding into silence and allowing the thump of my heart to be the only sound I heard, I was a man filled with love and adoration, emotions in stark contrast to those I needed in the world I'd built or the one I was about to enter.

Angelina Costello was my dream and now my reality. I'd worked diligently to move beyond the actuality of being a dockworker's son to becoming a self-made, successful entrepreneur, all in an effort to earn the right to call her my own. I'd overcome servitude to others, collecting their paychecks and lowly praises, to being the one who signed the paychecks and offered the accolades when they were rightfully earned. The world was my oyster and walking toward me on the arm of her uncle was my pearl. I'd found her amongst the empty shells life had offered. There was no need to pry open another possibility. Angelina was all I wanted. Yet my path was uncharted. There was more for me to earn, lose, and willingly give.

The top of that list was respect.

This story was fantastic!!

I am so happy that we got Oren's story. It was simply perfection.
Respect, Oren Demetri and Angelina Costello's story can be read as a standalone but gosh I highly recommend reading the Infidelity series in it's entirety. These stories are simply masterpieces.
I highly recommend the audio version the narrator does a perfect job bringing the story to life. I absolutely loved it.

Great ending to a awesome series!

Even tho it says can be read as stand-alone, in my opinion should be read after as the ending of a great series! It fills in some questions about the relationship between father and son when Nox was younger. I loved listening about Oren’s first love and how he was brought “into” the family. Love love Ms Romig twists and turns and will keep come my back for more!!

don't be fooled

this entire book only reviews everything we learned in the other books without even going the distance of the entire story and cuts off with Angelina 's.... we all know that considering Lennox hated his dad bcuz of the marriage. What a waste

Oh Oren...{{{sigh}}}

I am not sure what I was expecting from this story. I am a huge fan of the Infidelity series and I think maybe I was expecting a little more insight into that world. This story was strictly about Oren, he is Nox’s Dad, and how he navigated being apart of his wife’s “family”. I enjoyed meeting Nox’s Mom since we didn’t really get much info on her in the series. I enjoyed learning more about Sylvia’s role with the Demetri’s. Oren didn’t earn any points in my eyes in this story. It does make me want to re-listen to the Infidelity series, I miss Nox and Charlie!!

5 La Cosa Nostra Stars!!

Holy Shazizzle Batman (I totally just made that up)! I've been Aleatha'd like never before!!! I have literally been wishing for Oren Demetri's story since the minute I read Betrayal and knew there was SO MUCH we didn't know about this very well connected family. And when I say family, I'm not talking about blood relations!

It's no secret that Oren Demetri is a man that shouldn't be messed with and his relationship with Angelina had so many layers. But it's SO MUCH MORE than I expected. My heart was beating with anxiety every time Oren had to do something that was questionable, then he would be with Angelina and I was so happy for them, until I wasn't.

Ms. Roming has written a story that answers all my questions, although I'm hoping we'll see these characters again in the future. The way this story was told and weaved through their history is so enthralling that I felt every emotion, be it anger, suspense, frustration and most importantly love. And this is the crux of the story....what will a man do to protect the woman that is the love of his life?

You'll need to read this riveting story for yourself and then you can say you've been "Aleatha'd"

Respect, but at what price?

After reading the rest of the series, it was great to learn about the man behind Lennox.
The intensity of emotion, commitment and love of "family" is woven all through out this book.
The narrator did a fabulous job with bringing out the feelings behind the characters.
Now I need to go back and listen to thge whol e series again. Great job, Aleatha!

Astoundingly authentic world and characters!

Any additional comments?

Wow...I don't think I can give this book enough stars! Just like the blurb says, it's a love story. If you're looking for steam, you won't get it - but trust me when I say you will NOT be disappointed.

The authenticity of Aleatha Romig's words astounded me. When she was describing the Italian American world, from the Sunday dinners to what it meant to show respect, I found it to be reminiscent of my personal childhood. I could almost reach out and touch the world she created. Perhaps she grew up with a bunch of Italian uncles like I did. If not, she must have conducted some serious research to make this story feel like reality.

This book ran me through a gauntlet of emotions. I loved, I hated, and I wept. In between it all, plenty of suspense, tragedy, and heartbreak was found. Sacrifices were made in the name of family, driven by a fierce loyalty which often led to many mistakes. I loved Angelina Costello - her stubbornness and ability to love with her whole heart was endearing. Oren Dimitri was different. He was complicated. There were times when I wanted to hate him, yet I understood him at the same time. Family and respect was everything to Oren, and no sacrifice was too great - until it was, and my heart broke for him.

I loved everything about this entire series. While this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read the others in the series first. You will not be disappointed!

Loved it

I can honestly say that I wasn't the biggest Oren fan especially in the begining of the Infidelity series. I down right hated the man, but as the series went on I could see that he wasn't all bad. By the time I finished Fidelity Oren had made a soft spot in my heart. I was super excited when Aleatha said Oren was going to get his own book, and Aleatha NEVER disappoints. Brian narration was spot on. I wish this series could go on forever but all good things come to an end. 5 amazing stars.

A Bird's Eye View inside A Mafia Family!

Standing at what I believe is the precipice of my life, I, Oren Demetri, was too young to understand that it wasn't and too old to imagine that it couldn't be.
Respect is more than an ordinary novel, it’s an insider’s view into a young man marrying into a mafia family, and how he changes and loses his love and marriage in the process. At no time did Oren doubt his love for Angelina, even though he had been unfaithful through the years.
When Oren had to make changes to fit into Angelina mafia family, and his drive to make his company more profitable for his family. In the process loses what made feel like a good family man.
I'll admit, I didn't much care for Oren in the Infidelity series, he was always the pinnacle of hate for Lennox and was portrayed to be a neglectful and absent father through Lennox's eyes. Here we see how the relationship between Oren and Lennox broke down. My heart just bleed out for Oren and my feelings are in turmoil. I completely fell in love with Oren I could feel the strain and torture that troubled him every day.
There were so many other characters that we briefly became aware of in the Infidelity series, it was great to get to know these in greater detail too. Aleatha writes with feeling, with passion and with depth. She brings her characters to life and we truly see the story through their eyes.
I enjoyed the book so much that I decide listen to the Audiobook with Brian Pallino, and lost myself in Oren’s life again. Now I crying my eyes out as I’m writing this. Book or Audio I loved them both. This is a five star read that has plenty of heart.
