Father’s best friend/age gap.

Other than the fact that I think Amelia behaves and is treated as a bit immature for a 24 y/o, I liked the story. It’s a second chance at love for both her and Theodore. I liked the epilogue too.

I had to get used to the narrator, Michelle Nochi, but she did a good job.

Amelia

This is a love story, of second chances. There is an age gap, which is a large part of the story. Amelia is 24 years old, but seems a bit immature for her age. This may be due to her mind set similar to that of a teen, “my parents won’t let me”. That mind set got old quick, and I wanted her to just change her mind set to being an adult. I found it to be a quick but enjoyable story. Good way to pass a little time. Narration was well done. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Looking for some fluff?

This was fine as an easy listen between longer books, but don't expect anything groundbreaking, the romance was ok, the spice wasn't that spicy, the narration was fine but her voices for men weren't that convincing. I'd maybe recommend it if you were looking for some fluff between heavier reads and it was on sale.

Cute & quick...

This is a hot, quick read or listen that still managed to pull me right into the fictional world—so a fun little distraction while I worked! Packs all sorts of tropes and I doubt I’ll get them all, but I’ll try:

🚜 Grumpy (him) / sunshine vibes.
𓃗 Lots of misunderstandings and assumptions, but not too many.
🚜 Forbidden.
𓃗 Workplace romance.
🚜 Cowboys / western / ranch setting.

🚜 Just a bit of action & drama.
𓃗 Denver, CO setting.
🚜 1800s vibes, even though it was supposed to be set ‘today’, I think.

Though … it’s noted that the FMC is 24 years old. All of the “my parents won’t let me” / “my parents are letting me” talk got to be a bit much, for a full-blown adult. (held this book back from having plausibility). Still, a fun enough listen to help me through my work day, if I just ignored that bit. (Which got tough since it was very prevalent!)

3.5 stars.
