Sweet and Passionate Age-Gap Romance

This was my first Lavender Skye's book. This is a sweet and passionate age-gap and forbidden romance. Michelle Nochi did a good job bringing this story to life. #StoryOrigin

Age gap

Father’s best friend/age gap.

Other than the fact that I think Amelia behaves and is treated as a bit immature for a 24 y/o, I liked the story. It’s a second chance at love for both her and Theodore. I liked the epilogue too.

I had to get used to the narrator, Michelle Nochi, but she did a good job.

Amelia

This is a love story, of second chances. There is an age gap, which is a large part of the story. Amelia is 24 years old, but seems a bit immature for her age. This may be due to her mind set similar to that of a teen, “my parents won’t let me”. That mind set got old quick, and I wanted her to just change her mind set to being an adult. I found it to be a quick but enjoyable story. Good way to pass a little time. Narration was well done. I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Looking for some fluff?

This was fine as an easy listen between longer books, but don't expect anything groundbreaking, the romance was ok, the spice wasn't that spicy, the narration was fine but her voices for men weren't that convincing. I'd maybe recommend it if you were looking for some fluff between heavier reads and it was on sale.

Cute & quick...

This is a hot, quick read or listen that still managed to pull me right into the fictional world—so a fun little distraction while I worked! Packs all sorts of tropes and I doubt I’ll get them all, but I’ll try:

𓃗 Lots of misunderstandings and assumptions, but not too many.
🚜 Forbidden.
𓃗 Workplace romance.
🚜 Cowboys / western / ranch setting.

🚜 Just a bit of action & drama.
𓃗 Denver, CO setting.
🚜 1800s vibes, even though it was supposed to be set ‘today’, I think.

Though … it’s noted that the FMC is 24 years old. All of the “my parents won’t let me” / “my parents are letting me” talk got to be a bit much, for a full-blown adult. (held this book back from having plausibility). Still, a fun enough listen to help me through my work day, if I just ignored that bit. (Which got tough since it was very prevalent!)

3.5 stars.

Pretty good

I wish a different narrator was used. This one just didn’t fit the story in my mind. Her female voice was a little whiny and the male voice wasn’t manly enough for a rancher.

Onto the book. Usually I’m not one for such a large age gap, but it was written so well that it didn’t bother me. I loved how they bonded over the horses and how she actually snaps back when Theodore starts mouthing off. The only thing I wish is she would have stood up to her parents. All in all, it was a really good story.

Large age gap romance

This wasn’t for me. I didn’t understand the attraction between Teddy and Amelia they seemed to have very little in common beside maybe liking horses. Also this is a big age gap and they moved very quickly. It didn’t help that Amelia seemed to act younger than her age. She claimed not to be a teen but she sulked in her room and let her parents tell her what to do. Also it was never explained how Theodore got rich. A rancher making a billion dollars seems unlikely. I wouldn’t recommend this one unless large age gaps is your preferred trope.

I listened to the audiobook and I wasn’t a fan of the narration. Teddy’s voice didn’t sound particularly masculine and the accent was inconsistent. Also Amelia sounded very young.

It's been hard finishing this book. Good thing it was relatively short.
The characters were annoying and I didn't relate to the romance.
The narrator was also annoying - I never get it when one narrator does the POV of two characters, from different genders!

My Billionaire Rancher!

This is a fairly short and quick read/listen. The story is about a second chance, dad's best friend and large age gap. After a very messy break up, Amelia leaves New York and returns to her parents home and Colorado. Her parents get her a job with his best friend, Colin. She will be working with horses on Colin's ranch. When she shows up he is cranky, over bearing and treats her like she is an idiot. She gets a touch bratty with him. Eventually, the attraction between them ramps up and they act on it. They both claim it is just casual and nothing will come of it. What will happen when her father finds out? Will something long term develop. This is a cute story with steamy bits, angst, passion and love.

age gap

This audiobook is about a best friend that ends up with his friends daughter. They fall for each other and and her father refuses to let it happen. The best friend keeps fighting for their relationship. You will have to listen to find out. Good narrator, good storyline and awesome author.
