Publisher's summary

Charlotte, now the Countess of Wrexford, would like nothing more than a summer of peace and quiet with her new husband and their unconventional family and friends. Still, some social obligations must be honored, especially with the grand Peace Celebrations unfolding throughout London to honor victory over Napoleon.

But when Wrexford and their two young wards, Raven and Hawk, discover a body floating in Hyde Park's famous lake, that newfound peace looks to be at risk. The late Jeremiah Willis was the engineering genius behind a new design for a top-secret weapon, and the prototype is missing from the Royal Armory's laboratory. Wrexford is tasked with retrieving it before it falls into the wrong hands. But there are unsettling complications to the case—including a family connection.

Soon, old secrets are tangling with new betrayals, and as Charlotte and Wrexford spin through a web of international intrigue and sumptuous parties, they must race against time to save their loved ones from harm—and keep the weapon from igniting a new war . . .

An Excellent Installment

This installment builds on and advances all of the characters of the series. The story was engaging and fast paced. The author stays on task and the plot is well developed. Redford and Charlotte settle into their lives together and up comes another murder. A lot of fun to listen to and narration emails first rate. Really enjoyed it. If you like the series, you will like this book.

Love this Series

I love the direction this series is headed with fully developed characters, relationships and the introduction of new characters. The entwining of historical facts into the storyline is engaging and brings more life to the fiction.

Murder at the Serpentine Bridge

Another wonderful Regency mystery staring Wrexford, his friends, his brilliant wife, and the weasels. I love the depth of the mystery so I don't figure it out so quickly. Love the addition of Falcon to Hawk and Raven's little group of genius misfits. 😍

Do the people complaining about the American

accent not understand that the time period renders no American accent? they literally just fought the war...there would be no American accent yet.

Nice

Well this turned into a nice mystery and an addition unexpectedly to the family. Sorry this is the last in the series at least so far!

Another great one!!!

The chapter of the Wexford family and friends does not disappoint.I love the Wexfords and their band of misfit family and friends. You cant help but to root for them all. Their oddly put together which makes the stories so great. I find I do more around the house and take longer walks just to listen to the books.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

I have listened to every single book in the Wexford and Sloan series and thoroughly enjoyed each one. I am glad they have seen fit to use the same narrator throughout the series, because he does a wonderful job of it and it just wouldn't be the same if it changed. Highly recommend.

Not Just the Book

The book was very entertaining. Great characters. But there is also the reader. It is very hard to believe that the whole range of distinctive voices is from just one person.
