cute cozy mystery

Short, fun and entertaining

The four main characters, four devas who used to be popular singers many years ago, pretend to be investigators and try to solve a murder on their own when authorities fail. The story has some suspense, great friendship, and a lot of humor.
The narrator made this story come to life with her great talent for giving each character a unique voice and personality.

Suspenseful

An entertaining cozy mystery. Some flawed but interesting characters. These ladies aren't just fluff, they have substance and maybe a plan B and a second career in sleuthing if they want it. It kept me guessing until the end. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

Vacation or murder at high sea?

Get ready for some turbulence at sea! The Delta Queens are off on their adventure on a cruise. As they are setting up the stage to perform, a light falls and kills a member of the crew. Hush hush with the details, the girls are not happy with the response from the captain, and set off to find the murderer. But who could it be? With a variety of suspects, it's hard to tell. This is a fun listen. From start to finish, the personality mix of the Delta Queens brings out a little humor, a lot of points of view and a finding that is surprising! Come meet Margie, Patty Sue, Rosemary and Doris, enjoy some vacation time and try and figure out the murder. Plus there is some purses to look at as well! It's a blast!

Meghan Kelly brings it all to life with a fabulous narration. Her talent for voices never ceases to amaze me, especially in cozy mysteries. Faced with a vast amount of characters, she finds each one a different voice suited perfectly to their personalities and plays them all out consistently. It makes the listen exciting and enjoyable. Grab this for some weekend entertainment!

Fun and Entertaining!

This was my first Karen McSpade's book. This is a great and entertaining cozy mystery. The characters are interesting. I liked the humor, the suspense, and the twists and turns. Meghan Kelly did a great job bringing these characters and this story to life. I enjoyed it.

Truly a laugh out loud gem!

The Delta Queens set sail, ready rock it out AND return to their former glory as they headline the show on the cruise ship Ovation! Unfortunately, someone has other ideas when instead of a mic drop at rehearsal, a body hits the floor! The gals have to clear their names, AND ferret out the nefarious, before THEIR ship’s sunk in “Murder at High Sea”! This “who done it” cosy mystery is truly a laugh out loud gem! The writing is witty, the characters beautifully defined and wonderfully unique! The plot is not only interesting, it’s entertaining and perfectly paced! The narration bringing these characters, and this story to life is amazing! The voicing choices are perfectly suited to each character, and every line spoken is emotionally spot on, perfectly capturing what the character is feeling and leaving no doubt in this listener’s mind what is going on in the story! I loved this brilliant series starter and I can’t wait for more! Five fantastic stars!

Mystery

I enjoyed this cozy murder mystery narrated wonderfully by Meghan Kelly. The narrator has a southern accent which fits with the quirky southern character sleuths. The four friends who are rock stars are entertaining aboard a cruise ship. They decide to solve the murder. It was entertaining to listen to this book.

Cute murder mystery

I found the beginning a bit slow but once you get to Chapter 3, the events start to unfold. It’s very well written & beautifully narrated with a touch of Southern accent.
The band ladies that start investigating are hilarious. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a short, fun, captivating book to read.
