There’s a literary niche for all tastes including those who think that either Agatha Christie wasn’t funny enough or that PG Wodehouse didn’t feature anywhere near as many baffling murders as he could have. The Case of the Canterfell Codicil is a classic, cozy, locked-room mystery written in the style of an homage to PG Wodehouse.

Another Great Murder Mystery
Murder seems to follow those near Milo Rathkey and Sutherland McKnight. With the changes in Milos financial circumstances, he has officially become a consultant to the Police Department. He sees clues in the murder cases that the officers may see later thus allowing the cases to be solved sooner. This time the murders happened next door and Milo's new significant other Mary Alice Bonner and assistant discovered the bodies when they were viewing the home as a potential site for a party. Again we have a number of characters from previous books visiting again.
Tom Lennon does not disappoint as he makes the story come alive. Looking forward to another Milo Rathkey Mystery.

Fun and mystery!
In Murder Again! Happy New Year! by D.B. Elrogg, the Milo Rathke series has come around full circle in a year. And just as there was a murder in Great Party! Sorry about the Murder!, a year later Milo once again gets involved in trying to solve a murder that is related to a New Year’s Eve party held by Mary Alice Bonner. A young couple looking for a wedding venue goes to visit the Bonner house, location of the first murder, and they are shot down by arrows shot perfectly.
Since Milo and his roommate, Sutherland, live in a mansion next door (of course, next door means a mile or more away), they find themselves entangled in the mystery, especially because they end up hosting the New Year’s Eve party at their own mansion.
The audiobook is performed by Tom Lennon, who does a fabulous job of bringing this book to life. His voice reminds me of the mental image I have created of Milo, and he uses strong expression to make this audiobook exciting and fun.
The book contains a lot of fun hijinks and a great mystery. I highly recommend it and the rest of this series and give it five stars.

GREAT
MURDER AGAIN!HAPPY NEW YEAR! A MILO RATHKEY MYSTERY by D.B. ELROGG is the first of the Milo Rathkey mysteries that I have read. I found the characters very different in an odd sort of way especially Milo who has gone from living above a bakery in a dingy apartment to sharing a multi million dollar estate . Milo is consulting with the Duluth police department on another murder. The two victims were murdered with a crossbow , and not only does Milo have to work this crime but he is looking for his ex's husband, dealing with a major snowstorm & the guy who shares the estate is getting threatening emails and punched around. Pretty much a typical day for Milo.
I like Milo. He is a laid back guy with a very strange living arrangement. He likes his vodka gimlets, his cats, and he likes to drive waiters crazy at restaurants with crazy menu question. I cant wait to listen to more of Milo.
The narrator Tom Lennon does an excellent job. I have listened to quite a few of his audiobooks and as always the characters and the reading are great.
I recieved the audiobook free in exchange for a honest review

Money or love?
I did enjoy this but got very confused at the start as was introduced to too many characters all at once and being new to the series, I got lost as to who everybody was. Once I caught up I enjoyed the mystery of who was the main target and why the couple had to die. The characters were interesting and there is obviously a lot of history that I have missed out on, so might just have to go back to the start. The witty banter, jokes and camaraderie of the whole book was fun. I liked the unusual murder weapon and learnt way more about arrows than I need to know.
With her house under renovation Mary Alice needs to find a new place to hold her annual New Years eve party but her plans are once again put on hold when a couple is found dead on the lawn. They were hoping to hire the house for the wedding but as the bride left behind a string of ex finances the police are quick to make her as the target. Milo a police consultant isn't so sure and thinks the groom might have been the main target after he finds out the man had been threatened by a number of investors. Can Milo work out which one was the main target and who was collateral? He will have to it be wants to catch a killer and go to a new years eve party where no dead bodies are found.
The narrator was okay but it didn't help the story that all the characters tender to sound the same. It hasn't stopped me from getting one of the previous books in this series of which he is still the narrator.
