Publisher's Summary

In a business like monster hunting, it's all about setting priorities.

The chaos god Asag has been quiet since the destruction of the City of Monsters, but Monster Hunter International know that he is still out there, somewhere - plotting, waiting for his chance to unravel reality.

When Owen and the MHI team discover that one of Isaac Newton's Ward Stones is being auctioned off by Reptoids who live deep beneath Atlanta, they decide to steal the magical superweapon and use it to destroy Asag once and for all. But before the stone can be handed off, it is stolen by a mysterious thief with ties to MHI and the Vatican's Secret Guard.

It's a race against time, the Secret Guard, a spectral bounty hunter, and a whole bunch of monsters to acquire the Ward Stone and use it against Asag. For as dangerous as the chaos god is, there is something much older - and infinitely more evil - awakening deep in the jungles of South America.

At the publisher’s request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management).

Waited so long and what I got wasn’t enough

This has been one of my favorite book series until the guest writers stepped in. But when I heard Larry wrote this one I was so excited. This book had great moments but failed to feel authentic and left me struggling to finish the book.

To end the way it did after making us wait as long as the author did seems unfair. Is it going to be years before the next one too? Or is another guest writer going to write the next one that will end up being another side story?

I miss the old Monster Hunter books. So riveting I could not stop reading. But I suppose all good things come to an end.

Why is the audio worse than all the others.

Another great book. I couldn’t wait for this one, a return to Oliver doing the voice work. But the Audio is not as good. It’s as if the whole thing was recorded on an iPhone or something. Also, why did you change harbingers voice????? He sounds like G gnome now. Kinda weird.

great, but only half the story

Fantastic writing and narration as usual, with great action and humor. I'm disappointed that this story was split into two books.

HOLY SHIT

I love the tie in at the beginning to past work in the universe. Then the action in the middle was amazing. But the end of the book.....REALLY what the hell, that is so wrong and so out of left field that it just blew my mind.

Disappointed by incomplete story

The gang is back together which is great! But the story felt rushed and seemed only half told.

At the end you feel like you are left hanging. Cliffhangers are not a problem for me but this felt like there should of been another half to this story.

Do yourself a favor and wait till the next book is out before buying this one. It will be a much more enjoyable experience without feeling let down by the author.

Larry and Oliver for the win again

As always, superior writing and excellent narration. Need I say more? Nope. I managed to slow myself down and listen to this one over two days instead of blasting through it in one. Often times i I don’t like books that end in a cliff hanger, but this time I’m just thrilled to know there’ll be another installment.

Half a book made of one long scene

This used to be one of my favourite series. The last two books were a let down so I was this one got back on track. It didn’t. It’s NOT a complete story and it’s doesn’t end in a cliffhanger - it just ends.
The whole book (short as it is) is basically one long fight, in different locations, against a single “monster”.
The new female character is annoying.
Harbinger sounds different.
But the most disappointing thing is that the close knit team of the first few books - with their banter, teasing, encouragement - closeness - is gone.
Other Hunters make a quick appearance, (cardboard cutouts of their old selves) and that’s it. I’m not sure Skippy even speaks.
We hear Tanya mentioned but we don’t see her. Holly steps in, shoots something, disappears.
I’ll listen to the next one but after 3 letdowns in a row I’m keeping my expectations low.

Harbinger/G Nome.

Oh my God!!!!!! the end is a cliff hanger of all cliff hangers. Larry get to writing book 9 like now today do not take 2 years... oh forgot... why does Harbinger no sound like G-nome. maybe the narrator couldn't quite get the original voice back the way he did in the past.

Great Addition to the MHI series!

another great read from Larry Correia! is it the best in the series, no... but, there are some great twists and turns combined with some big reveals! It was very nice to see the crossover with the (also enjoyable) Memoirs titles! big old cliffhanger at the end which already has me clawing at the walls, like Harbinger on a full moon, for more info and another book. Bravo Larry, Bravo!

stretched out too much

Bloodlines ended very abruptly, so much so that I thought I had accidentally skipped a chapter.

Enjoyable adventure story

It follows the same style as the rest of the series, all the same fast paced action and funny quips you'd expect. It doesn't really bring much new to the table... but hey, its an MHI novel! Just sit back and enjoy the romp.

The narration is as good as usual.

A return to form.

I was nervous that this would be like the last addition to the canon (the distinctly sub-par collaborative effort "Monster Hunter Guardian" with the distinctly mediocre narrator Bailey Carr) but it's back to the good stuff with Oliver Wyman behind the mike. If you enjoyed the first six then you'll love this one, mad humour and lots of guns, but if you liked the whiney dullness of book 7 this may not be for you...even Julie is back on form...

Love this series! When’s the next book out?

If you enjoy fun tongue in cheek action with a Supernatural, Mythical and Fantasy twist this is the series for you.

The story line is enjoyable and flows from one book to the next. I bought the first on a whim and have kept up with the series ever since.

Good guys and girls vs evil.

Win Win!
