Award-winning author Ben Burgess, Jr., explores the man behind the player in this urban novel about a man trying to find the love he lacks for himself in all the wrong ways.

Tormented as a child for being dark-skinned and the son of a womanizer who deserts his family regularly, Ken Ferguson longed for that feeling of being loved. He promised himself that he wouldn't be a manipulating, deceitful man like his father, but after he is cheated on and dumped by the girl he thought he would one day marry, he begins his transformation. Fueled by anger and tired of being the "nice guy", Ken drowns himself in one-night stands, threesomes, and affairs with married women, sleeping with one conquest after another. His philosophy is: No commitment, no attachments.

He meets his match with Ashley, a girl who makes him want to stop his promiscuous ways. But Ashley turns out to do even more damage to his ego and his heart, wounding him deeply. With his philosophy reinforced, Ken spirals out of control. Sleeping with and mistreating random women he meets at bars and clubs, Ken uses sex to forget about his insecurities, his anger, and his sadness. Will Ken learn to let go of his heartbreaks, or will he be consumed by them and continue to be a Monster?

The M.C is often has misplaced guilt about women making decisions to sleep with him. The author continuously put the blame of other ppl actions on him. Women are adults and make decisions for themselves. Just listen to WAP n other songs by Meagan the Stallion. A clear example a gf he just broke up with calls him n tells him she got gang raped n its his fault. Said she went to a party trying to forget him. So then we got hear his guilt. There other scenarios like this. Or the guy being self conscious sbout being darkskin. Women love darkskin men. Books feels outdated.

Women dont have their own minds

The only reason l finished this book was because it was included in my membership..and it helped me pass time during a couple rainy days. l didn't particular care for the storyline or the narration. Wasn't feeling all the mindless sex. Didn't understand Ken's obsession with being too dark skinned. dark skin men are usually the norm for these kinds of stories...and the whole weight thing was kinda strange...it wasn't like he was 5 feet and 300 pounds or anything. l also didn't understand why the author chose make Ken responsible for evey bad decision made . Those women were adults and able to take responsibility for their own actions. He did force any of them into anything.. he was upfront with them about not wanting a relationship... he never claimed any of them...it was just sex..he even told them that they could see other men...each one of the women could have walked away at anytime. It wasn't his his fault that they all caught feelings. So, why blame him for one who tried to take her own life...or for the one who got raped....she chose to go to that party and get drunk...she went looking for sex and got more than she bargained for. And the one who got pregnant and had the abortion.. that was on her...when he told her about the broken condom...she told him not to worry about it. If she was going to be that reckless...she should have been on birth control. Each woman thought that she was going to be the one to change him. You can't change someone who doesn't want to change. l low key think that Jessie was jealous because she wanted a chance with Ken...she was far too angry about his sexual escapades. l respect the fact that Ken recognized his need change his ways... and that he made a conscious effort to better himself.

Not feeling it!
