Publisher's Summary

A bodyguard, a beauty, and a bet.

“I’m hiring you to do more than guard her, Zander,” my new boss explained. “You’re gonna be her rock. Her human Valium. Her trusted friend. And she’s gonna be your mission from God.”

“So I’m her babysitter?”

“Her babysitter, her bodyguard, her f--king service doggie. Whatever she needs or wants, that’s what you’ll be. Anything except her booty call.” The vein in my new boss’s neck bulged.

“Touch her and I’ll do more than fire your ass, Zander. I’ll rip off your balls.” My buddies laughed when I told them about my ridiculous new job. They said, “Three months on a tour with a world famous beauty, glued to her hip, catering to her every whim? A hundred bucks says you’re gonna break down and bang her within the first month.” But I said nope. No way. Never. “I’m a professional,” I said. “Plus, she’s not even my type. And I’m just getting over a broken heart. It’s never gonna happen.” So I put my money where my mouth was, figuring I’d laugh all the way to the bank. I never thought I’d actually fall in love with the girl.

Or that she’d become my reason for breathing.

The job, the bet, the girl. It was nothing but fun and games...until it became dead serious. Mister Bodyguard is a standalone, friends to lovers contemporary romance in the Morgan Brothers Series from USA Today best-selling author Lauren Rowe.

The story of Zander Shaw - Keane Morgan's devoted best friend who is an honorary Morgan Brother - and the pop star who brings him to his knees.

Ehh

Ok. This is a review for all the books prior to this one as well. Firstly - the word “crotch” is not sexy. It’s really, really not. And then “mermaid crotch” crops up more than once? I actually cringed so hard I nearly skipped the rest of the chapter. Second - “pulsing clits” (aka singing clits, apparently) - geezus this phrase is so overused. In ALL the books. Here’s some acceptable alternatives and synonyms: throbbing/swollen/sensitive/aching/tingling sex/vagina/center/pelvis/girlparts/pu$$y. I feel like the author just has a love for the word “clit” that won’t die. Literally the phrase “pulsing aching desperate clit” just played in the book while I was writing this. She has said “clit” four times in this chapter, and it’s not like the chapters are even five minutes long! Speaking of that... Third - holy crapballs, you do not need a new chapter every time a character blinks. The precious book had more than 70 chapters, many of which take place with the same narrator in the same location talking to the same characters. Why???????? There are some good elements to the books. Keane and Maddy in particular are great. But I am waffling on whether to finish this series.

Wanted to like it, and tried, but not so much

Initially I thought this would be a fun story and I wanted to like it. To be fair, I typically don’t enjoy rock/pop star stories and this didn’t change that. Zander’s story with Aloha didn’t convince me it was a genuine relationship. As a person with strong ethnicity, I found their pairing stereotypical - superstar-struck out of the tabloids. The nicknames went above and beyond comfortable to read/ listen to. Seriously, LA or not, high or not, who talks that way? This earned 2-3 stars from me simply because I stopped listening 3 times yet I came back three times to gut it out. I’ll never get those 8-9 hours back in my life. Sorry, not sorry.

My Thoughts on Mister Bodyguard

I'm a huge fan of The Morgan family. And I thought I loved Zander Shaw from his previous appearances in the Morgan books. I loved his relationship with Keane Morgan. I loved how big hearted he came across. I thought I was prepared for how good this book would be. But I was wrong. Holy smokes. Zander was AMAZING! So funny and yet sensitive and he really does have a huge heart and apparently a lot of other huge things too. His wit and humor were front and center in this one. His charm poured from the page and commanded my attention. Aloha couldn't have been any more perfect for Zander. Everything she was is everything he needed and vice-versa. Once again Lauren Rowe gives us characters that are so enjoyable to read and that you wish you could be friends with in real life. I laughed and smiled so much during this story. I keep looking forward to Lauren Rowe books and I'm never disappointed when I get them. I hope she just keeps them coming. The narration was once again amazing and an absolute joy to listen to.

Zander and Aloha’s story

Plenty of Morgan’s are included in this Series book as well as Zander’s mom and little sister and Barry, Reed River’s head of security and Aloha’s father figure. The story is predictable and about 3 hours too long but the story is a sexy romance with typical drama. Zander is Keane “ Ball Peane Hammer” Morgan’s best friend and a very sweet guy. In earlier books he was a personal trainer but in this book he has been dumped by girlfriend Daphne and moved to LA to keep his buddy company. He becomes a bodyguard for a former Disney star and now pop singer Aloha Carmichael. Zander is attracted on first sight but acts like the responsible bodyguard he is and resists her attempts at seduction for about half the book. He is so sweet and endearing and she is a diva with numerous issues including abandonment by her father, a verbally abusive, bullying, greedy, unfeeling mother and a history of self mutilation for attention. She only wants a fling but Zander is serious and genuine and eventually she falls. The family scenes and scenes with Keane are heartwarming and there are several hot scenes but the book could have benefited from som sedentary editing. Lame music lyrics but nice way to end this story until the next in series.

Love the couple

This is such an adorable story and the couple, Zander and Aloha are too cute together. Following the formula of the other books, these two are wacky and silly and oh so funny. But there are serious undertones too- what Aloha had to go through as a famous person who wishes that she had someone who loves her for her is something I imagine famous people just have to deal with. But then she meets Zander and the Morgan family (definitely up there as one of my favorite families in the book world). Lucky her! Zander was an interesting character- throughout all the books, he's postured as the love at pretty much first sight kind of guy and that sort of happened here too, which was a tiny bit annoying. But ]he was so great, sweet and loving so, he won me over pretty quickly. The narration team for the audiobook was great. Since I've been pretty much going through this series in order, I've gotten used to Lauren Rowe's highly excitable, sometimes shrill voice and I appreciate that not only does she write the books, she does a pretty good job bringing charm to her narration. John Lane is great- I'll definitely be looking for more of his audiobooks after I'm done with this series. I'm glad these books are in audible escape!

Hashtag blah blah blah

Rest of story is good. But the hashtag thing was so overdone it was annoying as hell. People don’t text like that. Yikes.

Best of the Morgan Brothers

Maybe Z seems like the best brother after listening to Ball Peen Hammer but I loved his character and story the most, so far.

Heart of gold

My tender heart Zander Shaw. I have enjoyed Zander in the Morgan boys stories but I wasn’t sure how his story was going to pan out. What I have loved about all these books is you get to revisit old characters but each book is tailored and different to each characters personality. Zander the tender heart that falls in love to easily end ups up being a bodyguard for Aloha Carmichael. Aloha has been a star her whole life and has always been told what to do. Aloha is now trying to break free and be treated as an adult. These two have chemistry that is off the charts. There intimate moments that have you in awe from the sweetness and sexiness. I could of listened to Zander’s voice all day long. The audio was perfect for this story.

Absolutely Amazing

Massive Lauren Rowe fan. She is the only author I listen to on audible. Mister Bodyguard was everything perfect. it was funny, emotional and swoon worthy. I've never read a character like Zander before, a man who wears his heart on his sleeve and is brutally honest about it it was really refreshing. Aloha was absolutely perfect, for Zander in everyway. The voices were perfect. I loved the poetry parts. Five star all round. of course, I always recommended Lauren Rowe.

this one i have to say is the corniest.

I read hero ( book 1) and took a break . the book was very serious and heartwrenching and it fit the fireman persona perfectly.....the 1st Morgan man was a tad srait laced and foremost a fire fighter. so the tone suited the story. months later I went to book 2....now than was a bit lighter but still fairly straight laced due to rum cakes persona ...... then comes book 3 keane .....well. I was in hysterics..again the clever tone ms Rowe set according to this Morgan son and his character....I couldn't stop laughing at keane. I thought it was a bit too immature for me at first but it just got better. but zander...sad to say was too cheesy and too corny even though ms Rowe painted his character through 3 books, especially keanes story..it just didn't grab me....got a bit too perfect and the HEA was 100 feet tall in caps...hmmmm , I want to read dax as the very soulful persona that he hads been described as but I'm worried ms Rowe won't put in the depth of daxs character that she's moulded him to be from the start. . I'm hoping I'm wrong....as the dustcover gives you a soul stirring Insight....especially the heroine. hoping dax will be written as the soul deep hero he has been portrayed and not too much of the jovial brother... ...big leap I'll give it a go and cross my fingers
