Publisher's Summary

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.

Jayne Frost is a lot of things. Winter elf, Jack Frost's daughter, Santa Claus' niece, heir to the Winter Throne, and now...private investigator. Sort of.

Christmas is over, the new year has begun, and life is thankfully slowing down for Jayne, giving her more time to chill with her new guy. That is until Myra Grimshaw’s death reveals the elderly fae had a strange obsession with Jayne’s royal family and an unauthorized collection of exclusive winter elf objects. Including one very questionable snow globe. Then a whiteout of magical proportions snows the town in, and unraveling the mystery of Myra and the objects becomes job number one. Especially when Jayne suspects one of those objects is behind the dangerous creatures now roaming the town’s streets.

Things take a chilling turn when one of Jayne’s dearest friends is kidnapped, and rescuing her means cracking the secrets of Myra’s past. But when Jayne discovers blood really is thicker than water, her own life is suddenly on thin ice. Can she save the town and her crown?

Miss Frost Moves On

The series continues on steadily. The wrap up from the former love triangle to the single new Sinclair was a little to forced, rushed, and orchestrated for my tastes in the last volume, only to continue into this book of a lightening speed romance of head over heels to all is just dandy with the other two which I spent 4 volumes loving and pining for. I just feel a little bit of whiplash. The new story and new mystery with more involvement from characters you already know and love from this series and Nocturne Falls. Overall I still prefer the Nocturne Falls main series to this but these predictable light read mysteries seem to hold steady in their quality. The narration still is not my preference I find Jayne to sound whiny and childish. But the pacing is good and the stressors are dealt with quickly so it is an easy listen with some fun magical concepts and some nice peeks into more of the NP (North Pole). Fans of Miss Frost and Nocturne Falls are sure to be pleased with this new addition, though some like myself might feel a little tired of how perfectly happy ending some issues get wrapped up when a little more depth and exploration might allow for a more engaging story.

Huh?

Would you try another book from Kristen Painter and/or Hollis McCarthy?

Yes

What did you like best about this story?

The constant humor

Could you see Miss Frost Braves the Blizzard: A Nocturne Falls Mystery being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

yes

Any additional comments?

I'm confused. Jayne has two guys who want to be her one & only. We get great insight into their characters and the rivalry between them. Then this 3rd guy pops in and we get nothing? Did I miss something?

Oh no the North Pole has arrived in Nocturne Falls

Another great story by Kristen Painter. I have never read/listened to a book by her that was not great. This time due to a snow globe accident the North Pole spills over into Nocturne Falls when Yetis come through a portal because of the broken snow globe. They bring havoc to Noturne Falls. First Birdie is kidnapped and then Buttercup changes places with her because she can take the cold better than better. The Yetis make her queen but they have a awful plan for Buttercup. Can Jayne, Sin and all the crew from Nocturne Falls work to get rid of the Yeti? Jack Frost, the Sandman and Santa Claus come to help out as well. Will they all be able to bring Nocturne Falls back to its normal state? Great book must read or listen.

If you’re hungry, skip it

There is so much superfluous filler in this book it’s frustrating. I would say 70% of the book discusses food, in particular, sweets. The plot is thin and easily guessed. Honestly, I keep reading the series for Spider the Cat. Hollis McCarthy does do an excellent job narrating.

Too much babyvoice

I like this series, but the narrator uses a baby voice for the main character. It is really annoying! she's a good narrator for everyone else, but this baby voice is killing me. It's the main character so you hear it a lot.

Action packed, supernatural, cosy mystery

This was another wonderful visit to Nocturne Falls. I thoroughly enjoyed the story-line and I like Sin and Jayne as a couple. Of course it wouldn't be Nocturne Falls without some crazy dramas and supernatural hijinx. Jayne Frost Braves a Blizzard is a really fun visit to Nocturne Falls through Jayne's eyes

Brilliant!

I really enjoyed this book! We got to learn a little more about the north pole and Jaynes father and uncle finally visited! Love the surprise at the end even if it is kind of a cliffhanger. Really can't wait for the next Jayne Frost book!
