Rules ran my life

This book opened my eyes to how routines boss me around without permission. Now I see habits hiding under furniture, lifting each piece to find the little things keeping me stuck. Mini moves are letting me rearrange the place and move ahead slowly by doing small bits differently each day. I really enjoyed this book. Kudos to the author.

I recommend it!

This book is a practical guide to changing our habits by replacing them with new, better ones.
The chapter that I liked the most, or rather, that resonated with me the most, is number 6.
Contained here is a very valuable and, for me at least, enlightening lesson.
A mini-habit does not require motivation!
Motivation has to be very strong to be constant and remain over time, and on the basis of that, changing our bad habits on the basis of motivation alone is a failing approach; a different method is needed.
This book explains how to do it.
A clear, straightforward, well-written, and well-narrated book.

So true!

I wish this book had been around when I was younger. It took me years to realize the information that is in this book. I would try making major changes that wouldn't quite stick because I would lose the necessary motivation, but once I started repeating those small changes and making them a habit, I slowly started seeing that, after a while, they became more significant to me. I also really like the idea of using the negative effects of things as motivation to continue with the good habits.

Big Change with Small Change

I have heard of mini habits before, but never given it a try. When I saw this opportunity to listen to this audiobook, I decided to give it a go with a problem I've been having: I want to develop an exercise schedule that I can stick to. The problem is, even though I want the benefits, I really lack the motivation.

So now I know that I use "not enough time" as my excuse. This audiobook has helped me not only look at this problem in a new way, it has also made me be honest with myself.

I've began my fitness journey by starting with only very simple exercises while I wait for my coffee to brew each morning. So far I've stuck to it and feel more motivated to keep going.

I see this a really helping me.

Yes, this book is not written to help with a fitness plan in me and, but the techniques are very transferable and I think I can use these methods in many areas of my life -- work, health, money and more.

I'm excited to keep using it and expect good outcomes. I will be playing is one over and over.
