Story
When a young man is ripped from his quiet life and stranded far from home, he must learn not only how to survive, but how to live. Stax Stonecutter has lived a peaceful - if unremarkable - life in his small town in the Overworld. The son of great adventurers and wise builders, Stax prefers an easier life. He loves to tend to his gardens and play with his cats all day, rather than venturing out to explore the surrounding lands. It's quiet on his estate, even lonely sometimes, but it suits Stax well enough.

Publisher's Summary
New York Times Best Seller
This official Minecraft novel is an action-packed thriller! When a new virtual-reality version of the game brings her dreams - and doubts - to life, one player must face her fears.
Bianca has never been good at following the plan. She's more of an act-now, deal-with-the-consequences-later kind of person. But consequences can't be put off forever, as Bianca learns when she and her best friend, Lonnie, are in a terrible car crash. Waking up in the hospital, almost paralyzed by her injuries, Bianca is faced with questions she's not equipped to answer. She chooses instead to try a new virtual-reality version of Minecraft that responds to her every wish, giving her control over a world at the very moment she thought she'd lost it. As she explores this new realm, she encounters a mute, glitching avatar she believes to be Lonnie.
Bianca teams up with Esme and Anton, two kids who are also playing on the hospital server, to save her friend. But the road to recovery isn't without its own dangers. The kids are swarmed by mobs seemingly generated by their fears and insecurities, and now Bianca must deal with the uncertainties that have been plaguing her: Is Lonnie really in the game? And can Bianca help him return to reality?

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA😻🙀😺😻🙀😻😺😺😸😸😸
I didnt know i was going to like this book from the time I started listening. From the car accident, to the hospital, to the part where AJ comes into the story, I was kind of bored, cause im just a kid, I thought it was too deep. Then when Bianca gets to Minecraft, I knew i was wrong. I LOVE MINECRAFT so I knew this book was gonna be a good story. The names of characters are imaginative, and uncommon. I had never heard of the names of the names Bianca, Lawny, Anton and that other girl who FREEKS OUT a lot. I loved this story so much. As i am writing this, i am listening to the story. My favorite part of the story is the enderman with the scar. I also like how music plays during the story. That makes it sound more real, but it is kinda distracting. What ever. I loved this. Listen to it. You will too.

Have you read The Island?
12 year olds don't say rivulet or ankst and the litany of other words these sad children say... and talk about beyond depressing storyline - this wasn't much of a Minecraft book, more of a grief and depression counselling session for kids disquised poorly using vague references to the game, ignoring most of the actual game play physics completely in order to make it seem more "epic". Narrator had nice voice changes for the characters however lol

Adequate but not really in the spirit of Minecraft
This wasn't not really a Minecraft novel IMO. It was too focused on the characters and their struggles with the unfairness of life (sickness, etc.). I never really experienced the wonder of exploration or the joy of discover while reading this book, which are must haves for a Minecraft product. The story itself was fine though unsatisfying for the reasons already mentioned. Perhaps I would have enjoyed it more if I could relate to the characters better.

Less about minecraft, and more about therapy
I felt that this was a big step down from the previous book. this is less about Minecraft and more about a girl dealing with a traumatic event. Everything from how the game works, to the mobs in the game, is all twisted to fit the narrative. I couldn't even finish this one without speeding it up. I was very disappointed. if you are looking for a Teenage tragedy/drama with a slight tie to video games, then this is for you, otherwise....just skip it.

Incredibly inaccurate
This is almost the worst Minecraft book I’ve ever read, besides Winter Morgan’s series. The author Mojang hired clearly didn’t do much research on the game, probably doesn’t play it, and relied on the little info Mojang gave them. I could list everything wrong, but that would go on and on, so I’m just going to name a few things. 1) the entire idea of monsters spawning because of the characters having pent up feelings is stupid 2) the author has the game definition of mob wrong. They think it means a group, or “mob” of monsters, when really it stands for “mobile” which is anything that spawns and moves in the game. 3) why do no Minecraft fiction writers understand that creepers exploding next to each other does not set off a chain reaction? It just kills the other creepers directly next to the one that blew up As for the actual story, there is nothing likable about any of the characters. I hate them. They are all just jerks to each other, they’re annoying, and they just make stupid decisions overall. The entire quest is pointless, and things happen for no reason. And the hospital VR headsets are just ridiculous, you can’t exit the game without throwing up? Why would you make them like that? And ESPECIALLY why would you use them at a freaking hospital? Overall, this book is an insult to everything it’s predecessor, Minecraft: The Island, was. If you read this, read it to complete your Minecraft novel collection, then never even TOUCH it again.

NOT for Minecraft fans!
I have listed to and liked the 1st Minecraft book, so I bought this one without reading reviews or even thinking about it. this book is SO loosely minecraft based it's almost a joke. The author did not understand how the basics of minecraft works, and game-play wise it made little to no sense. The story truly hinges around the teenage mental health story, and you could have inserted ANY video game... nothing really to do with minecraft. I was more than disappointed. I honestly only finished because it was like watching a train wreck... you didn't really want to see a train wreck, but your mind wants to know how bad it can get. If you play minecraft. DON'T buy it.
