Publisher's Summary

What would you do to save a loved one's life? Make a pact with the devil?

In Diana Kingston's defense, it was the middle of the night in the deserted hospital chapel. Surely it was just a dream. She hadn't really sold herself to a brooding stranger to save her father's life, right?

Then she wakes, and her father is fully recovered, and a mysterious letter arrives from the tall, dark, handsome - um, devil? Yep, it was right there on the contract, Lucien Star, aka Lucifer Morningstar, that had been his name in the dream.... Gulp. What would the devil himself want with her?

Sex. Three months of hot, sweaty, Friday-night sex. Ooookay. Breaking a pact with the devil doesn't seem like a smart move. So she'll do it - but she won't like it. Not much anyway.

But she starts liking it - a lot - and every night they spend together, she likes it and Lucien a little more. Being with him allows her naughty side to come out and play, but Diana starts to see more than just a sexy-as-sin, rock-hard...er...

Anyway, he might be Satan, but even he was an angel once. Kind. Noble. And she sees glimpses of that man still inside him... But how in heaven's name do you save the devil from himself?

Contains mature themes.

WICKEDLY WONDERFUL & FULL OF LIGHTHEARTED FEELS

Bravo and well done Emma.. for such a wonderful debut novel - you’ve absolutely surpassed my expectations and delivered a captivating story that lured me in from its synopsis and audio sample.. and let me tell you I was seriously impressed. Your handsome charismatic Devil was deliciously bad and intriguing as he tempted.. and teased.. and bargained with Diana whose pure soul was enticing him out of his funk. You created good girl Diana to be a shining light in his dark world.. and she was that.. and so so much more and, as I listened and visualized various scenarios to give them a happily ever after, my mental musings paled in comparison to the beautiful perfect scenes you wrote. You only briefly flirted with descriptions of Heaven and Hell - and you had just the right balance of sex as Diana’s three month contract of Friday nights belonging to Lucien (aka Lucifer) commenced. You created a loveable alpha possessive Devil who slowly.. well shhh you know what.. and, rather than dark, this sweet and very entertaining love story, with all its whimsical fantasies and humor, was actually really light. So, once again Emma, bravo.. you gave me quite a different and compelling story about love conquering all.. and it was a shining beacon to watch out for your next book.

Worth a credit? Diana and Lucien’s journey was dual POVs, it was mysterious, romantic, sexy, sweet, refreshingly different and wonderfully romantic with a splash of heartache.. and Jeremy York’s narration brought the characters, the scenes and the story to life.. definitely making it a creditworthy audiobook.

Love Conquers

Fantastic story by Emma Castle. I was hooked from the beginning and tried to figure out how this would end . She did a great job giving everyone their HEA. I cannot wait to read more from Emma Castle.

The Devil "I wish" I knew.

Familiar plot. But always one of my favorite. I truly enjoyed this book as it appeals to all of my " not so secret " girlie needs.

Give it a whirl

overall I enjoyed the simplicity of this story compared to some of the seriously raunchy books I usually read. my only qualm is the devil felt tamped down considering his well infamous role in reality.

Not A Dark Romance

The only thing thing that makes this dark is that it's a deal with the devil. It's strangely a mythological/paranormal-ish chick lit story. It's cute, witty and filled with lots of mythology and some erotica. If you're not looking for something that's overly extreme with shock and awe this is a good middle of the road story.
Beautiful, lonely and sacrificial, Diana has everything and nothing to lose so she makes the deal of a lifetime. Now it's time for the devil to do his work. Most think that it's the devil that make them do bad things when in truth he only directs you to the less righteous desires. So when he's given a subject that is good and pure he has to pull out all the stops but instead of pulling her in could she be pulling him out?

Great storyline! Excellent narrator!

Great storyline, excellent narrator! I've always pondered God's love for his fallen son. The ties to Milton's works are a great touch.

Love this so much!

While I enjoy romance novels novels with HEA, paranormal/devil-related themes have not been in my repertoire of books. The reviews were pretty good so I took a chance and I am so glad I did!! Love, love , LOVE this book. Hilarious and relate-able thoughts from the heroine Diana. Smooth talking and sounded-hot-as-hell Lucifer. The author gave such great descriptions that I could clearly envision each scene and character, almost like watching it on a screen. Plus, the ending was a complete surprise to me. I thought it was going in another direction when the author introduced the croucher demons. (You'll just have to read the book to know what I'm talking about.) This was such a fun book, I'm even listening to it a second time. I am so looking forward to another book from Emma Castle.

Blahh

It was ok, but considering it’s about the devil is was so disappointingly tepid and ‘nice’. He’s the devil! Shouldn’t there be something dark about him?! The relationship doesn’t feel very real either and you don’t get drawn in. I would have given it two stars usually but the writing is decent, it’s the story and characters that could have been so much more.

This book is recommended in lists along with some seriously dark and messed up books but they are so far from being in the same genre. This is more of a light romance.
