Publisher's summary

Welcome to Midnight Fae Academy.

Home of the Dark Arts.

Vampires.

And cruelly handsome fae.

A forbidden bite led to my capture and recruitment.

There are no flowers here.

No life. Only death.

I’m an Earth Fae who doesn’t belong here.

They can play their little mind games all they want, but I'm going to find a way back to my elemental world. Even if it kills me.

Except, Headmaster Zephyrus is one step ahead of my every move.

Prince Kolstov won’t stop cornering me.

And Shadow - the reason I’m in this damn mess to begin with - haunts my dreams.

My affinity for the earth is dying and being replaced by something more sinister. Something powerful. Something deadly.

The Midnight Fae believe this is my fate.

They claim that I was “recruited” for a purpose.

To battle a rising presence. Or to die trying.

I don’t owe them a damn thing. But if I have to pass their trials to find my way home, then so be it. I survived a plague and far worse in the Elemental Fae realm. An ominous energy? Please. What a joke.

Give it your best shot. I’m waiting.

And don’t you dare bite me. Or, I’ll make you regret it.

Author's note: This is a dark paranormal reverse harem trilogy with bully romance (enemies-to-lovers) elements. Despite Aflora’s opinions on the matter, there will definitely be biting. Shadow, a.k.a. Shade, guarantees it. This book ends on a cliff-hanger.

Wonderful story!

I really enjoyed this story. I love all the main characters. The ending was definitely a surprise twist . The narrators do a great job telling the story. I look forward to the next book in the series. I can't wait to read what Aflora does next.

Great start to the series!

I just finished the Elemental Fae series (Never kiss a Fae combo) and I loved it. it continues on from that series with Queen Aflora and her story. Book 1 is slow burn, like enemies to lovers. Maybe 🌶.5/5, But book 2 is much spicier, so if that's what you're looking for along with a great Vampire style RH romance, then you'll love this series. Totally worth the credit for each book IMO, Way better then the Elemental Fae series and I enjoyed that too. Can't wait to finish the last 2 books! Definitely worth the listen. The narration is great. It also links with the Hell Fae series. which is what started me on this journey. Zim dying for Hell Fae Prince to release, so I'm binging all the other series in this world while I wait!

I love this story and the narrators!!!

I love this book and characters so much. Still so many unanswered questions about Afloat and Shade. There is so much more to Shade that we can see. Lexi is such an amazing author. I am immediately pulled into these stories and never want to leave. The characters have such depth and lots of humor. Sarah Puckett and Kale Williams are two of my favorite narrators. The way they bring the story and characters to life never ceases to amaze me. You can feel exactly what the characters are feeling. I love that each character has a narrator. Everyone did an fantastic job. I love when there are multiple narrators in a audible!

That's 2 for 2 now! Loving this series so far.

I have to be honest, I am not usually huge fan of the cadence of Miss Puckett's voice, but I can tolerate it here. Now Kale Williams and Gregory Salinas, what an absolute dream team! Fortunately for me, in addition to Aflora's chapters, the book alternated between each guy's point of view. Seriously, the smooth British accent and the commanding alpha voices are straight up my alley.👌

It's interesting how the book starts off with an unwanted mating bond bite, but by the end, you get to understand why that was actually a good thing. Depending on whose perspective it is, the alpha-hole is not the actual bad guy here. We don't know who is the mastermind behind everything. So many questions are left unanswered as this ends on a cliffhanger, yet I'm so looking forward to the next book! I loved the direction Lexi C. Foss took with the creativity of the whole Midnight Fae world! I'm instantly transported back to my Harry Potter days (only this is for the New Adult crowd). From the Fae books I've read so far, I'm noticing a trend of maturity which actually starts at age 20-22. From there, the students start to hone their skills and find their destined mates. What's great about this book is the potential for change. The Midnight Fae are so outdated with the females having limited to no control. With the introduction of Aflora, she and her mates are bound to dismantle the council. Her survival literally depends on it!

While I do find Aflora a tad annoying (gurl, learn to compartmentalize: self-preservation now, retribution later), the men around her seem to care for and adore her. And since I'm smitten with Shade & Kols, I'm hoping the rest of the series is releasing on audio too! The sexual tension was sinfully delicious, a relatively slow-burn (experimental fantasies are played out in dreams instead). I was surprised at the nature of the relationship between a couple of the characters and would love to see the progression from there as a quad unit. 🦩#PinkFlamingProductions #TheFlock-VIPReviewer🦩

Narration is on Point!

The multicast, duet narration is absolutely on POINT! These types of narrations for audiobooks ruins other audiobooks for me for quite a while. Because, let's face it, while I give a HUGE round of applause for single narrated books with Excellent narration, hearing a man portray a man is just...yummy! 😋

The story line is interesting. I'm still trying to really get into it, but I like it enough to download the second installment. As a newcomer to this Academy series, I think this one is a spinoff to the Elemental Academy series. If I knew what I knew now, I would've read/listened to those first as that storyline kind of bleeds into this one.

I do like the world building this author brings. What brought me to this series is my reading of her other book Noir Reformatory... and I couldn't get enough so came here. Favorite voice is Shades who I think is played by Gregory Salinas who also does Novak's voice in Noir Reformatory. Just Yummy.

Action packed

This was such a great introduction to these characters and world. I love the different types of fae and the powers. The secrets, questions, animosity, treachery, hidden secrets and bonds.
We’ve just scratched the surface and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Paranormal Reverse Harem Romance

Midnight Fae Academy: Book One by Lexi C. Foss is a dark paranormal reverse harem bully romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett, Kale Williams, Gregory Salinas, Rich Miller, and Lessa Lamb.

Book does come with an author’s note “This is a dark paranormal reverse harem trilogy with bully romance (enemies-to-lovers) elements. Despite Aflora’s opinions on the matter, there will definitely be biting. Shadow, a.k.a. Shade, guarantees it. This book ends on a cliff-hanger.”

I absolutely love Lexi’s books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the books. I am loving the relationship that’s blooming between Aflora, Kols, Zeph, and Slade. I really enjoyed that we got each of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life. I can’t wait for the book two to be released on audio so I can get more of their story.

Sarah, Kale, Gregory, Rich, and Lessa did an amazing job on the narration! I loved this dual narration throughout the book. This is the first book I have listened to where each character had a different narrator. It was EVERYTHING!

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romances.
