Publisher's Summary

Welcome to Midnight Fae Academy.

Home of the Dark Arts.

Vampires.

And cruelly handsome fae.

A forbidden bite led to my capture and recruitment.

There are no flowers here.

No life. Only death.

I’m an Earth Fae who doesn’t belong here.

They can play their little mind games all they want, but I'm going to find a way back to my elemental world. Even if it kills me.

Except, Headmaster Zephyrus is one step ahead of my every move.

Prince Kolstov won’t stop cornering me.

And Shadow - the reason I’m in this damn mess to begin with - haunts my dreams.

My affinity for the earth is dying and being replaced by something more sinister. Something powerful. Something deadly.

The Midnight Fae believe this is my fate.

They claim that I was “recruited” for a purpose.

To battle a rising presence. Or to die trying.

I don’t owe them a damn thing. But if I have to pass their trials to find my way home, then so be it. I survived a plague and far worse in the Elemental Fae realm. An ominous energy? Please. What a joke.

Give it your best shot. I’m waiting.

And don’t you dare bite me. Or, I’ll make you regret it.

Author's note: This is a dark paranormal reverse harem trilogy with bully romance (enemies-to-lovers) elements. Despite Aflora’s opinions on the matter, there will definitely be biting. Shadow, a.k.a. Shade, guarantees it. This book ends on a cliff-hanger.

dark, intense

Aflora is an Earth Fae, whose essence is sunshine, earth, flowers and all things living. She's transported not by choice, to the dark realm, after being bitten by Shadow, a Vampire. He has a reason for what he did, but all will be found out in due time. There are many unanswered questions. Of course, it ends with a cliffhanger! This story brings you into the world of vampires, gargoyles, and darkness. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Too much I don’t know what I’m doing and bratty attitude.

This book would be great if Flora wouldn’t sound so dumb found in everything she does and have such a bratty attitude. It gets so trying and making me want to scream at her to grow the f*ck up and stop whining about everything. She’s supposed to be a Royal and should carry herself as a better person, but instead whines about everything. Still listening to the book and debating on continuing on, because she is starting to get on my nerves. Might exchange this book.

That's 2 for 2 now! Loving this series so far.

I have to be honest, I am not usually huge fan of the cadence of Miss Puckett's voice, but I can tolerate it here. Now Kale Williams and Gregory Salinas, what an absolute dream team! Fortunately for me, in addition to Aflora's chapters, the book alternated between each guy's point of view. Seriously, the smooth British accent and the commanding alpha voices are straight up my alley.👌

It's interesting how the book starts off with an unwanted mating bond bite, but by the end, you get to understand why that was actually a good thing. Depending on whose perspective it is, the alpha-hole is not the actual bad guy here. We don't know who is the mastermind behind everything. So many questions are left unanswered as this ends on a cliffhanger, yet I'm so looking forward to the next book! I loved the direction Lexi C. Foss took with the creativity of the whole Midnight Fae world! I'm instantly transported back to my Harry Potter days (only this is for the New Adult crowd). From the Fae books I've read so far, I'm noticing a trend of maturity which actually starts at age 20-22. From there, the students start to hone their skills and find their destined mates. What's great about this book is the potential for change. The Midnight Fae are so outdated with the females having limited to no control. With the introduction of Aflora, she and her mates are bound to dismantle the council. Her survival literally depends on it!

While I do find Aflora a tad annoying (gurl, learn to compartmentalize: self-preservation now, retribution later), the men around her seem to care for and adore her. And since I'm smitten with Shade & Kols, I'm hoping the rest of the series is releasing on audio too! The sexual tension was sinfully delicious, a relatively slow-burn (experimental fantasies are played out in dreams instead). I was surprised at the nature of the relationship between a couple of the characters and would love to see the progression from there as a quad unit. 🦩#PinkFlamingProductions #TheFlock-VIPReviewer🦩

Great series kickoff

In the different Fae realms, each type rules and keeps to their own. But when Shade (Shadow) bites Aflora, against her will, which is strictly forbidden, the Midnight Fae realm is thrown into uncertainty, as they wait to see how the bite will impact her. But there’s more to this situation, and it is hinted at multiple times - the “accidental” bite, clearly not so accidental, but the larger motives are yet to be revealed. While Aflora struggles being separated from her Elemental Fae realm, where she is the sole remaining Earth Fae royalty, new magic awakens within her that both scares and exites her. And the Midnight Fae charged with watching her, Prince Kols, Zeph, and Shade, are all drawn to her, even though any kind of relationship would be strictly forbidden, and could mean their deaths. But as things progress, and emotions can’t be held back any longer, Aflora is left feeling betrayed, and looking for revenge.

This is definitely a dark, twisted story - if you don’t like that kind of thing, then this isn’t for you. It deals with dubious consent, and bullying aspects, but these aren’t humans, and don’t have human morals or guidelines, so if you can get onboard with that, you’ll definitely enjoy this ride.

The narration is spot on, with multiple narrators taking on all the primary characters, providing unique and fitting voices for each of them, and as an added bonus, all dialog is done by each characters narrator, regardless of the chapter POV. This lends beautifully to the overall enjoyment and immersion into the story.

I love this story and the narrators!!!

I love this book and characters so much. Still so many unanswered questions about Afloat and Shade. There is so much more to Shade that we can see. Lexi is such an amazing author. I am immediately pulled into these stories and never want to leave. The characters have such depth and lots of humor. Sarah Puckett and Kale Williams are two of my favorite narrators. The way they bring the story and characters to life never ceases to amaze me. You can feel exactly what the characters are feeling. I love that each character has a narrator. Everyone did an fantastic job. I love when there are multiple narrators in a audible!

Holy 🔥 Hotness !

The narration OMG!!
There is just something magical with multiple narrators. Brings the characters and story to life in such a unique way.

This is the first episode in the trilogy and it starts by dumping the reader right into the chaos.
No slow introduction -
Just reading along flipping the pages then
💥BAM!💥
All he 'll breaks loose

This is a slow build romance, the attraction is there from the opening scene.
The untapped desire alone is enough to ignite the local fauna (So not telling you will need to read that) but the taboo that lies on the other side?
No one is touching that.

It was a while before I connected with the guys at a personal level, other than the need to stomp on their manly bits that is. As the foundation for the series is laid and we are taken deeper into the darkness that is Midnight Academy things begin to unravel.
A lot is going on behind the scenes and as I expected not everything is black and white. (*throat clears* Zeph)
My feelings towards some of the cast changed drastically - I used to like Kol.
Shade... I may have been a bit harsh when I first wanted to stomp his manly bits. Sorry about that Shade.

The world-building is a bit creepy 😳 Not in a bad way Midnight fae prefer the darker delights and the images that are presented?
A bit like Dracula's castle and Dante's 7 levels combined.

The factions or bloodlines - we get a bit of everything here which only drove my curiosity

This ends on a bit of a cliffy that left me mad 😠 as he ll and feeling a bit betrayed 😞

Aflora our sweet little earth fae - watch your back boys you crossed the wrong little queen
Kol - I used to find his character endearing now I hope he trips on a vine and ...
Shade I think I like him 😏 he grows on you
Zeph is an uptight arse

Paranormal Reverse Harem Romance

Midnight Fae Academy: Book One by Lexi C. Foss is a dark paranormal reverse harem bully romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett, Kale Williams, Gregory Salinas, Rich Miller, and Lessa Lamb.

Book does come with an author’s note “This is a dark paranormal reverse harem trilogy with bully romance (enemies-to-lovers) elements. Despite Aflora’s opinions on the matter, there will definitely be biting. Shadow, a.k.a. Shade, guarantees it. This book ends on a cliff-hanger.”

I absolutely love Lexi’s books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the books. I am loving the relationship that’s blooming between Aflora, Kols, Zeph, and Slade. I really enjoyed that we got each of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life. I can’t wait for the book two to be released on audio so I can get more of their story.

Sarah, Kale, Gregory, Rich, and Lessa did an amazing job on the narration! I loved this dual narration throughout the book. This is the first book I have listened to where each character had a different narrator. It was EVERYTHING!

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romances.

So, So, Good!

This is such a great start to the Midnight Fae Academy series and I am left desperate for more. The story starts quickly and the pace doesn't ease up.
The Midnight Fae practice the Dark Arts, drink blood and are definitely walking the fine line between evil and good. A bite creates a mating bond and when Earth Fae was walking away from a stood up date on Earth she runs into Shadow, who takes a bite and catapults Princess Aflora's life into a world so different from her own.
Lexi C. Foss is a world building genius and I, as someone that usually struggles with complete world building, didn't struggle with it for a moment. I was immersed into it in the same way that I was drawn into the story and didn't want to stop listening. In fact, when the audiobook ended in felt a sense of loss. I needed more. I knew that the book ended on a cliffhanger, but it hit hard and the cliffhanger is a good one. I see Lexi's name as the author and I know that I am in for a real treat. She hasn't let me down yet.
The audiobook has a fantastic cast of narrators who all do an outstanding voice. Sarah Puckett, Kale Williams, Gregory Salinas, Rich Miller, Lessa Lamb. The choice of narrators was a great one. The voices work wonderfully together and individually they are all hugely talented and their voice acting is incredible. Never over acted, just on point in each scene.
In each and every way this is a fantastic audiobook. Wow!
The Flock.

Magical Fae!

This was my first book by Lexi and I was delighted with how detailed it was. The development of the story really pulled me into the story and wow the multi cast narration brought it to the next level.

Sarah Puckett is an exceptional voice actor and I always love her characters she pulls emotions into her characters. Lessa Lamb is refreshing here as Ella and made me want to be friends with Ella. Gregory Salinas as Shade was dreamy and playful and expressive, and had me wavering between hating Shade and surprised by his caring of Aflora. The other two narrators are new to me, and really expressed their characters exactly how I would picture them.

I really enjoyed the development of this story and how it evolves with all of the right tension that kept me captivated right through and left me wanting and needing to know what would happen next. I really enjoyed that Shade, Kols and Zeph visit Aflora in her dreams. I also loved that we get to learn about the Midnight Fae and the workings of the Academy right along with Aflora.

Can’t wait to hear more about all of these characters.

My Thoughts on Midnight Fae Academy: Book 1

This story was so so good. And that doesn't even begin to do it justice. It was so many of my favorite story elements combined. It was a paranormal romance. That's one of my favorite tropes when done well and this author really does it well. A fun and likable leading lady who is strong and caring. It's a reverse harem which I just can't seem to get enough of in the last few years. Plus it has leading men that you kind of want to punch but you also know they have goodness in them.

I not only liked the flow and the way this story unfolded, but I like knowing there's more to come. There is already so much going on and yet more to learn which I am super excited about. This story was awesome and attention holding from the start to the jaw dropping finish.

The narrators were beyond fantastic. There were new to me voices and some of my favorites. I loved how all the chapters were handled with the narration with each main character having a distinct tone, if not their own narrator. The multi cast story telling style is really growing on me and it was really well done here.

Enchanting

This book captured my attention from the very start of the book, I could not stop listening to this enchanting and easy to listen to tale. I love Aflora’s imaginative cute version of swearing it had me laughing loudly. I am interested to see what happens next and how the relationship grows between Aflora and her men. A clever mix of voices for the narration, that really complement each other.

Amazing

About a month ago I listened to the ALC of this and it was so good I had to buy it when it was released .
Thre characters are fantastic and Shadow is great I love ihis attitude . I met Tray and Ella in Ella’s Masquerade so I knew how they met and you should listen to that first before this. The multicast narration is so good it makes the listening experience even better.

Pixie Dust!!!

OMG, first I need to talk about the perfectly, amazing, brilliant multicast narration, it was perfection, it's really well done and flawless, truly enjoyable, all of the narrators did such an amazing work. The cast was just perfect for each character:

Kale Williams as Kols, he is the perfect Kols, I truly enjoy all of his narrations and this was no exception.

Rich Miller as Zeph. It's my first time listening to him, but wow he has a truly great voice, so deep and srong, that suit Zeph to perfection.

Gregory Salinas as Shade. I love that he was cast as Shade, his voice just suits Shade's playful, carefree attitude, it was brillant.

Sarah Puckett as Aflora. Well Sarah is by far one of my favourite female narrators, and she keeps proving why with this performance of Aflora, she is terrific bringing every emotion of her to live.

Lessa Lamb as Ella. I was so glad that Lessa Lamb came back as her roll of Ella for this book, I really love her performance of Ella in Ella's Masquerade and this book wouldn't have been the same without her voicing Ella.

Now, for the story. I've tried so hard to stay away from any post regarding MFA to avoid spoiling myself, I wanted to go in blind to get the full experience, and it was so worth it. The story is great, it capture me from the beginning and I couldn't stop listening. I needed to figure out what was going to happen, how would all of them would become mates because I just didn't have a clue how that was going to happen, and GAH of course it was done brilliantly.

But wait... That ending, that cliffhanger... Why? Why Shade? Why, why why?
Now I have to wait patiently for the second book to come out on audio, and trying to stay away of any spoilers for the other books.

Weak FMC - Ok narration

I thought the FMC would be strong, but unfortunately she is easily manipulated, docile and childish. The male characters are condescending and ridiculing toward the FMC and disrespectful. It seems like it has a lot to do with the fact that she is a woman, but I am not sure.
The story wasn't particularly interesting, but perhaps my dislike for the characters biased me
