Publisher's summary

In small towns, no one lets the facts get in the way of juicy gossip.

Terri Rayburn is a girl with a reputation. She doesn't deserve it, but having grown up on the outskirts of Summer Hill, Virginia, she knows how small towns work. The only way to deal with vicious gossip is to ignore it. So she keeps to herself as she runs the summer resort on Lake Kissel.

When she returns home from a short trip to find a handsome stranger living in her house, she smells a rat. Someone is trying to fix her up, and she has to admit that Nate Taggert is just her type. However, Nate is engaged to the daughter of the mayor and strictly off-limits.

Nate and Terri form an unlikely friendship while he throws himself into life at the lake. As Nate starts to hear rumors about Terri, he's confused. Knowing how smart, beautiful, and strong she is, he's determined to discover the source of the gossip. Terri doesn't want to revisit the past, but Nate won't stop until he discovers the truth - even if the truth might be more than either of them can handle.

Set in the beloved fictional town of Summer Hill, Virginia, Met Her Match examines the tensions between the wealthy townspeople, the summer vacationers, and the working-class people who keep the town and resort running. Told with humor and heart, Met Her Match is the perfect summer escape.

This book has nothing in common with Summerhouse series

I love Summerhouse series books however saying this book its in the series it’s totally deceiving. One name from previous book is mentioned and it doesn’t make it part of series. My expectations might have been high expecting the story to go in different direction but so far this was the worst book I’ve read by the author.

Love Jude Devereaux but not this one

Ending was disappointing as it seemed to be tacked on with very little to connect it to the body of the story. New characters showed up in the last 20 minutes that were key to concluding the story. It didn’t seem well constructed to me.

Just so so.

Not what I expect from Jude Deveraux. I have enjoyed others of her books more. Too much hate and heartache in this one.

Not what I expected

This book was disappointing to me. I didn’t even listen to the last two hours of the book. I was disappointed by the overall story and outcome. I usually enjoy Jude Deveraux’s books, but did not like this story.

Good story but not Bks q, 2, and 3.

It was a very good story and well written But did not follow the theme of the other summer house books. The narrator did a fine job of the different voices

good book but shouldn't be in the series

it was a good book, but the story does not go with the other books, in the 3rd book the kit storyline was changed. it appears the author forgot what she wrote in the previous book. also it shouldn't be in the same series with the other 3 books.

Enjoyment

I So enjoyed this book. I am a Jude Devereaux fan and like all of her books I don’t think I’ve read any that I don’t like. This was a nice sweet book and kind of had a little bit of surprised at some of the ending.

Story ended too quickly...

I really enjoyed this book. As always Susan Bennett is on point. (I even look for titles that she has narrated.) But it rushed the ending. Needed to have more with where the main characters were headed. Just left you to assume. In last 2 chapters you find out everything and the end. I expect more from Jude Deveraux. Usually her stories have more meat to the ending.

One of Jude Deveraux's best!!

This book kept my interest all the way thru. Suspense from the start and not predictable.
