Publisher's Summary

Book Two in the USA Today best-selling Sunset Cove series.

"Second chances, old flames, and startling new revelations combine to form a story filled with faith, trial, forgiveness, and redemption. Crack the cover and step in, but beware - Mermaid Moon is harboring secrets that will keep you guessing." - Lisa Wingate, New York Times best-selling author of Before We Were Yours

Mallory's mother died 15 years ago. But her father's last words on the phone were unmistakable: "Find...mother."

Shame and confusion have kept Mallory Davis from her home for the last 15 years, but when her dad mysteriously dies on his mail boat route, she doesn't have any choice but to go back to Mermaid Point.

Mallory believes her father was murdered and childhood sweetheart Kevin O'Connor, game warden in Downeast Maine, confirms her suspicions. But Kevin is wary of helping Mallory in her search. She broke his heart and left - without a word -- years ago.

When Mallory begins receiving threats on her own life - and her beloved teenage daughter, Haylie - their search intensifies. There's a tangled web within the supposed murder, and it involves much more than what meets the eye.

As answers begin to fall into place, Mallory realizes her search is about more than finding her father's killer - it is also about finding herself again, and possibly about healing what was broken so long ago with Kevin. She just has to stay alive long enough to put all the pieces together.

"Coble's second Sunset Cove novel takes readers on another exciting journey. The game of cat and mouse keeps you involved in the intrigue, with the romantic tension between Mallory and Kevin provides just the right counterbalance." (RT Book Reviews)

Colleen Does It Again

What made the experience of listening to Mermaid Moon the most enjoyable?

It was a great addition to the first book in the series: The Inn at Ocean's Edge.

What did you like best about this story?

It kept me guessing and wondering.

Have you listened to any of Devon O'Day’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love listening to Devon O'Day. She speaks clearly and doesn't mispronounce words.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Over the Moon, Once in a blue moon and now The Mermaid Moon

Any additional comments?

this was so enjoyable to listen to. It can be read without reading the first in the series but The ocean's Edge is good too. The Mermaid moon kept my attention the entire time.

My teeth hurt from the sugar.

Over flows with filler, fluff, totally inappropriate, painful dialog. Seems more like a high school effort. So, Mallory’s dad has just died but as she is waiting at a dock to go to him, she’s “making mental note to chk out these shops, I wonder what the hotels like”. Meets a friend while waiting and muses about “how pretty his girlfriend is with those big blue eyes”. Her dad has JUST called her and DIED on the phone! It gets worse. Every. single. person. she meets during this horrific time is described by smell, clothes, eyes etc. Who CARES. Its just completely weird,off-putting and amateur. Gave up soon

Great Story

Loved it. A great story of redemption. It kept me interested and wondering if Folly Sholes is a real place. That would be neat seeing that I am from Maine.

Wow! So many places and people in one story

Amazing! I would love to see/read a book from this author about what a few lives went through from WW2 from England, France to California. She’s so good at intermingling families and friends it’s amazing. This was a great book. But with the name Olivia I got a little confused thinking it was the same Olivia from lightkeepers Ball when Olivia came out from NY to Ca. And got into airplanes. But then I realized wrong era! Lol! 😃! Hard when they use same names

Twists and turns through out

I found the story's two as ts and turns fun to try and figure out before they were revealed; some I figured out and some of the red herrings threw me off! What a pleasure to have stories that keep your mind engaged and are not so easy to solve beforehand. I liked the tenacity of these characters but the narrator did not portray all Mainers as sounding as such, Mallory out to be very whiney when she was not a whiney but scared, and Kevin was a very strong supportive male that often came off as weak sounding. There was one detail that I found off in my knowledge: Game Wardens trump Sheriffs in jurisdiction if it falls under the parameters of a Game Warden's job yet the story did not portray it in this manner. GWs have a broad and encompassing authority - maybe this varies in each State? Haley was a delightful normal teenager. I love the inclusion of Sadie and how strong and independent she is. Plus tackling real issues of parent-adult children is a never ending wealth of stories. This was a solid second chance story that I loved and definitely recommend reading and hesitate to recommend to listen to.

Good story, almost unendurable narration

The plot was interesting enough to keep me listening despite a narration that manages to make the simplest conversation sound unnatural and even nonsensical. I initially thought the book was poorly edited, but soon realized it was garbled in narration. So yeah--kudos to the author for keeping me interested despite a performance that is as close to nails on chalkboard as I've heard. I would have enjoyed this book a lot more if I'd had the option of switching to print.

a good solid suspense clean romance

I enjoyed this story. It keeps you reading and the characters are well developed. Some things in the middle seemed unreal or far fetched to me which is why I did not give it 5 stars. Over all however, It was a good solid clean read.
